Recently, my computer died (motherboard). I took it to a local electronics repair shop. They had it for several days, and my wife is worried that they found our pictures and videos (which I think is likely). There were two pictures of her on the desktop that would have been toggling back and forth, and both pictures showed her flashing her twat to the camera, BUT, both photos had been cropped to only show the top of her pubic hair. Still, it was oh so obvious that she was flashing the cameraman. So it's likely the repairman looked for more.
But while she worries that they may have copied the photos and videos, she is also excited by the idea. I told her that it's unlikely that someone from an electronics shop would post any material they found onto the internet, since it would point straight to them but she still worries about it.
But the idea that they might just LOOK at the material makes her very wet. She doesn't know the repair guys, so she's less worried about them recognizing her locally than she is that they will share the photos and videos with some friends, and she may be recognized that way. Still, though she's worried, she's also undoubtedly aroused by the idea.
Has anyone else had this experience? How did you feel about it?

As a tech savy person, I wouldn't take my electronic devices to a repair shop anyway, however if i did take my computer, I would take out the hard drive first, or swap it over to a clean blank slate.
tbh if the pictures were just right there on the desktop easy to see, then they probably would have looked, and it depends on how pervy they were as to whether they copied them off. Generally unless something is obvious or gives clues people won't go looking for it.

Shy Exhibitionist Wife and I were in an auto parts store in our area. I saw the computer repair guy who worked on my computer in the other side of the store. I told Shy Wife to notice him, and I'd tell her why later. She subtly kept her eye on him, and noticed he seemed to be looking her way a lot. No, I don't bother looking at other peoples files, people expect and deserve privacy. The only exception to this is when asked to recover files, and I need to check to make sure any recovered files are readable.
I work in the UK and we are bound by the "Freedom of Information Act", this governs what a business (or an individual within a business) can hold, circulate and use information regarding to clients. Were I to be fool enough to invade someone's privacy, and even worse to then circulate what was found, it could result in prosecution, loss of job, and goodbye to any re-employment within IT.
So unless you had the pictures set as your wallpaper, the repair guy is unlikely to have seen them, and too busy/professional to go routing through your pic's "just in case..." Also you state "both photos had been cropped to only show the top of her pubic hair" so even if they were set as wallpaper, the repair guy is unlikely to know whose public hair it is?

Perhaps I was unclear. The photos showed Shy Exhibitionist Wife sitting, with her legs spread. The photos showed her body (and obviously her face) down to her pubic hair. They were cropped so that her large lips were not showing, but it was very obvious she was bottomless and flashing the cameraman. Got a better idea about it now?

Not an exact fit to the OP but related... years ago a field manager at our company was having some issues with his laptop - some sort of issue with being able to access his files. He gave it to his assistant and asked her to give it a try before sending to tech support. She tried a few things - and was able to access some of his files... including a pretty extensive stash of porn pics. Apparently she freaked out - and, no, nobody ever thought he did it on purpose - but, yes, he got fired as she reported him to HR and as it was a company laptop... was an immediate dismissal.

Same for me. When I'm fixing someone's computer, it's usually because of a virus or malware, so I'm busy looking for the bugger that caused the issue and just don't have the time, nor care about someone's personal information. I consider myself a professional and not just a Geek. Professionals don't mess with other people's stuff.

I was asked to repair a friends computer. I know just enough to get myself in trouble. They saved almost everything on their desk top. It was hard to notice AFF icon along with several other ones like Swingers ones. I didn't explore further and just used their Norton utility to system restore. However I now know more than I would like to know about there personal life.

I have fixed friend's computer problems, but I try to do it with them present. I am able to get them to enter their admin password without me having to know it. I then have no opportunity to pry into their private business without them being in the room.
Only a few times have I ever had to take hardware away for an extensive recovery attempt, using a tool that does something fairly low-level, not requiring access to an admin account. If they do not have a backup (all too often), I make one using a spare drive, and I hand the backup disk over to them with a recommendation that they should maybe do backups more often.
I have rarely seen anything unusual or surprising. I've seen things people would probably not want to share with everyone, but not much surprises me any more.

I used to use PC's before I became a dedicated Mac user, and they were always getting bugs and malware. Unfortunately, I had hundreds of nude photos of myself in dozens of different folders, and when I had to take my laptop in for service, I'd hide folders within folders etc. several layers deep, with innocuous names on the top 2 layers of nested folders, hoping that the geeks wouldn't have the time or curiosity to search down far enough to find my pics. I also had my boyfriend take it in so they wouldn't see what I looked like. Then I'd go pick it up and ask to talk to the technician, to see if there was any look of recognition on their faces.

I agree with "Magik" I also wouldn't give a PC to be repaired with the original harddrive in it. However you can also keep your naughty files on a portable harddrive so you won't lose them. I also repair PC's and for professional reasons won't peek at personal files. It's a trust issue and a real good tech won't look.
