I don't know about the personals, but Craigslist has become totally useless if you want to sell anything.
If you place an ad to sell anything, you will be overwhelmed in texts or emails from Nigerian scam artists. They'll completely blow up your email or text window.
You'll get dozens and dozens of similarly worded responses, usually in poor English and rarely referring to what you are actually selling. They usually say 'the item your selling' proving that they didn't read it to see what you're item is. They will want to send you a bank check to include covering their shipper, which is to come pick up the thing your selling.
After being flooded with such suspicious responses l researched this. Do not fall for this scam. The check they send will bounce several weeks later and your banking account will be deducted for that amount.
Feel free to research all this yourself.
