just like the real life, probably all of us had some good experiences and some bad experiences on lush. or all of us learned something on lush.

So, can you tell 3 good things, 3 bad things (or less than 3) you have learned (or experienced) on lush?..What did they changed in your life, at your thoughts.

1. I write better. The mods have given me some really great advice
2. I love the forums. Great opportunities to share and learn about others
3. My stories are exposed to more potential readers here than on my own sites

1. I'm spending WAY too much time having fun here!
2. Several conservatives have sent me nasty messages about my opinions in the forums
3. A couple of horny guys have been doggedly pursuing me, even when I tell them I'm not interested in meeting them

Good things and bad?
Well I love the feedback I get from stories. I adore seeing that someone has made one of my stories their favourite.
I love looking at all the profiles and seeing what sort of kinks other people have.
I also love getting in touch with people from so many different places.

As opposed to Beth sometimes the feedback I have had from mods has not been helpful, sometimes I feel they are just being difficult because they can be (not always just sometimes) and then I have seen some really poor stories with appalling mistakes that have got through the editing process unscathed.
Some people come here with an agenda and always want to push it, that can be a pain.

On the whole it's worth it though.

Oh, I've gotten one or two mods rake my stories over the coals just for the hell of it too, but after 20-some stories published here, most of the mods have been more helpful than arbitrary. There's only ONE mod I always pray I never get! lol

Good Things

1. I have gotten good advice from the mods and have learned to write better.
2. I have made some awesome friends and have a wonderful cyber lover.
3. I love the forums and all the fun I have in there.

Bad Things
1. I get a lot of strange email asking me the weirdest questions. Just because I write does not mean I participate in things. I mean my stories are fiction unless I say they aren't.

2. When I write they are just things I think about. These stories are in no way shape or form about my life. People sometimes get upset that they are not true stories. Hell, I mean really. Then they write me terrible emails. I get horrible emails.

3. I have had to develop a very tough skin. People can be very rude here and just say very mean spirited things. I have gotten email from people telling me what they think about my writing and go into great lengths of what I need to do. We aren't even friends so I think that is really bizzare.

1. With Lush I found a place where I was able to publish my stories, which otherwise would have still been gathering "dust" on the "shelves" of my laptop :-)
2. Nobody ever realized that I am actually a non-native speaker, which is already an achievement for me.
3. I met a few really intelligent, kind and caring people whom I keep in touch with.

1. Maybe one of the bad things is that Lush isn't quite popular in my area (the Balkans) so I can rarely talk to somebody from my own country, for example.
2. I think the average reader pays more attention to the content of a story or a poem rather than the way it is written, and very often I read some absolutely mediocre pieces of writing which are highly praised by readers.
3. The bad thing is that there are actually very few bad things on Lush, which is already suspicious hehehe ;-)

Lush is a wonderful place to have fun.
Quality of the content is steadily improving here.
Lush management has a resolve to keep on moving.

One the other hand:
I simply do not agree with the class distinction created by gold, silver and bronze badges and do not understand how it can benefit Lush in tangible terms; actually it is turning counter productive. However, the distinction may be on the basis of excellence i.e. best poet, best author in each category etc. That would be more exciting. A ranking system may also be considered and introduced.
And no one should have the authority to have access to member's private chat. This is damaging the reputation of Lush.
You have a resource of about 300000 members, exploit this asset of yours to generate income but do not ask money from members.
I like the way you make me feel even when I'm nowhere near...

Good
I've made some amazing friends.
My writing's improved dramatically.
As a Mod, I love helping people with their writing and getting their stories posted on the site.....but.....see below.

Not so good
It's sometimes assumed that because I write erotica I'm always "up for it" no matter who messages me. Er....No!
The written word sometimes does not properly convey one's sentiments and feelings and meaning/sentiments can often be construed a something other then what was intended. That's something to bear in mind whenever anyone writes anything here. That's not Lush's fault at all. Its symptomatic of the written word as opposed to face to face speech for example.
Sometimes you cant win as a Mod, even when your intentions are always to try and help..

Good things:
1) the writers - such an amazing wealth and quality of story writing here
2) the freedom - amazing to have a safe place to express and explore
3) the company - the exhilaration of being with like-minded, witty, intelligent folk

Not so good things:
1) some guys thinking that any woman on here must be an automatic wank aid
2) some guys thinking that women on here exist to fulfill their fantasies, not to explore our own
3) when Lush breaks down!!! Horrors!! ;)
Her Royal Spriteness
Good things:
1) Dick Pix
2) Guys hitting on lesbians
3) Mod bashing

Bad things:
1) Nicola
2) Mods who suck and are mean and insist on good grammar and won't let me write about [censored by mod].
3) Having to give up two cups of Cafe Latte a year simply so I can be a member

As much as I'd love to stroke your ego, Rach (...or any other part of you, you'd let me stroke!), its not you I dread! In fact, as mods go, you're a pushover!

It's hard to think of three things, cos so many experiences are common to interactions with people on the internet.

I've gained inspiration from so many wonderful people but to single out individuals would be unfair. However, I think I can get away with naming Nicola who has been wonderful, supportive and encouraging during the good times and bad times since I've been on Lush. Also Gav who does a fantastic job with his technical wizardry!

As someone who writes as a hobby, I have received so much support from people and amazing feedback from other authors and readers alike. You know who you are.

I honestly can't think of anything bad about Lush. I'm a girl who writes sexy stories, so I expect a bit of banter and on the whole it's fine. It's the internet so you're bound to come across the occasional sleaze ball but like in real life, most people are really cool.

Danielle.

Three Good Things:
1. Earning RRs on my writings. Just knowing someone thought they were worthy of such an honor still makes me smile.
2. Meeting so many amazing writers.
3. Becoming a Mod and being in a position to help the writers (and if I'm the one any of you fear... PM me and tell me why.)

Three not so good things:
1. The number of odd requests I've gotten for pics, meetings, and more. I might write erotica, but I don't live it. The number of question I get is about if I've ever fucked a student. I'll make it clear here & now... the answer is NONE! That's a line I will NEVER cross.
2. Not winning an EP or a contest! Seriously, why do so many amazingly talented writers enter the comps? (yes, I'm totally kidding here.)
3. Losing amazing writers. Some of my favorite writers have left Lush for their own reasons and I'm so sad.

Three Good Things:

(1) I get to write here.

(2) Mop.

(3) Sprite's Avatars.

Three BAD Things:

(1) The PC Brigade. (Who FUCKING cares what I THINK or SAY???)

(2) Site Politics. (Don't get me started...)

(3) *THIS COMMENT BLOCKED BY SITE MODS*

2. Reading great erotic stories and poems
3. Making interesting wonderful friends from all over the world, and the amazing social interaction

2. No free beer
3. Whiny posts in the Forum

3 good things:
1) Connecting with the world in one place
2) Learning how to improve my writing skills (Thank you William and NW)
3) The site hours and room temperature here are great, it's almost like they know I'm coming

3 bad things: (how dare you, but if you insist)
1) No discounts on hotels and airfare (An oversight I'm sure, but sort this soon please)
2) Increased need to purchase Clorox Wipes
3) Not having required psych evals for members (I'm willing to do some pro bono work here)
Story Verifier
Good Things

1. Probably the only decent window on the internet to showcase erotic stories.
2. Undoubtedly some of the best authors of erotica publish their work here.
3. The best managed website I have seen. And I have seen quite a few over the years and nearly all of them are no longer around because they were poorly managed and imploded.

Bad Things

It's pretty hard to actually think of any seriously bad things. I don't like Mod bashers and forum whingers but there again they are part and parcel of any internet community and to be expected. But:

1. No free coffee and bacon sarnies supplied when verifying stories.
2. Buz getting all those pussy pics.
3. SJ getting free sex and biscuits.

the good
1. I can share my poems to the universe.
2. So many wonderful friends.
3. Cyber fun.
the bad stuff
1. It's not a dating site and I always forget that.
2. my heart gets broken
3. Drama, drama queens, haters.
Devil's Advocate
The good things:

1. connecting with some really lovely people, and making genuine friends;
2. reading some first-class erotica from some exceptional authors; and
3. being able to hone my own skills and become a better writer, and help others to do the same.

The bad things:

1. the cliques, and the inevitable politics and bullying that occasionally spills out;
2. not enough readers prepared to offer constructive feedback on stories; and
3. those who honestly believe the mods aren't here to help other members and maintain the standards of the site.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.
Active Ink Slinger
Good:

1. I've met some really cool people and made some good friends.
2. I've read some incredible stories by some amazing writers.
3. Overall, it's a good social site.

Bad:
1. Not very many people vote or comment on the stories they read. If you read a story, take a minute and tell the author what you liked about it. Especially if you vote on it. Reader feedback is important to authors who are looking to improve their skills.

2. Too many people barely fill out a profile...red and white avatars, with no stories or forum posts, and basically nothing on their profile page. How many profiles are completely inactive, taking up space? If you're going to be here, contribute something.

3. The overwhelming number of people who are only here to hook up and cyber with complete strangers, and then get all pissy when you shut them down. Not everyone is here for that.
Old Bag Of Bones
Good:

1. The stories on here have gotten better with time and the right Mods in place to help.
2. The Mods are extremely helpful and friendly.
3. I have met some of the greatest people as readers and writers here.

Bad:

1. This site is very addictive.
2. Some of the categories are not well received.
3. People continue to look at the story as if it were real and not judge them on the writing or storytelling ability.

Just a side note of bad. Based on the history of this thread. Nothing seems to change much.

Remember to check out a few of my stories. You can find them here.

Good:

2. Playing in forums.
