We generally do not use either. I have never had a whip used on me, but have seen them in use many times. To me the whip delivers the most pain and longer lasting whelps. A whip was the only one I have seen draw blood, on several occasions. When I was offered in the sub auctions, in the 80s and 90s, the Master that won me, 20 out of 22 trips to the auction block, used several sizes of paddles. We use and I prefer floggers and belts.
