Yes FET is all about real life. It is a very friendly and open site if you get in with the right people. I made this mistake in meeting someone outside that circle just for casual conversation, no play, and my life turned into a living nightmare for months to follow. When I had the nerve to go back I met a very nice gentleman on the board of directors who took me under his wing and introduced me to the right people. I vowed to never meet someone from FET if it wasn't associated through a FET approved event or if he didn't approve of them himself. Safety is a major issue in any world, real life or cyber space. One can never be too cautious.

I've been a member of FetLife for over two years now and I love it. I've been to a couple of different munches and met some lovely people, I've also had my fair share of being contacted by unsavoury characters on there but the site has 3.2 million members. Probability says that some of them will be odd balls, but you're also likely to find people you get on with, especially if you go to munches.
