If I have no interest in seeing the movie then I just wont go see it

I'm very particular when it comes to the movies I watch. So if I had a girlfriend who wanted to go see a movie we'd have to agree on what to watch, otherwise I won't go.

I HATE TWILIGHT!!!!

now that i have gotten your attention....i went on two dates...two different girls...who i had been interested in. And yes each time we went to see a twilight movie...
and the result? Nothing zip! with one i decided to STFU and agree with what she liked and hated...and then got friend zoned...i think...or was in the process of being
The next one seemed like the type of gal you could have sensible arguments with...right after we saw the movie...she had another date planned with some other guy in the restaurant adjacent to the theater...so yeah....
Since then...unless its a 100% guarantee No thanks

for guys in relationships its a whole different ball game lol

It's not like she's asking you to read Twilight (thousand times worse).

Okay I have to step in here, while I am not a fan of Twilight, the books are much better than the films. I'm sorry but they are. They just take longer to get out of your mind. But I wouldn't talk to in-depth about the plot for the newest books as it breaks so many rules of lush.

I just knew the issue of Twilight would rear it's ugly head here... I will just say that if a girl did ask me to watch those movies with her I would flatly say no. It's just a preference I have, like the desire to have a date be funny or very intelligent. However, if she asked me to watch the Riff Trax of it... I may just ask her to marry me on the spot.

Of course I would even if it wasn't a movie that I was very fond of. In order to make a relationship work, both parties have to compromise and this would be one of those situations. I know my woman would also do the same for me. If I wanted to really go out and see something wether it's a movie, concert show (whatever) and she wasn't the most fond of it I know she would be there with me.

Some of it honestly is to be there to support your partner and see their reactions as they witness an even (show) they enjoy. It's great to know when you do that, they will also support you when the tides are turned.

What? Spending two hours at a chick flick to show her that being with her is more important then a movie is a problem?

Maybe I'm old fashioned but to me it's the woman I'm with that matters. Not the movie I see

It's the ONLY reason to see a movie....

The short answer is YES. Done it many times.

I'm not sure what's implied in "Just b/c a girl wanted you too"
I want to go expecially if it is something that not much appealing to me. I want to know her view and reaction to it, to better understand her. If she asks if I liked it, I will answer the good side (for me) of it, there must be some too. Also I will let her know that although not my favor kind of movie, it was a pleasure to accompany her.... And it really was.

I totally understand the importance of compromise in a relationship, and that there is a give and take. However, one of the ways I determine if I'm going to like a woman's personality is by seeing what kind of films and shows she likes. It's a small check I use when I'm socializing with people in general, it's not a big one since numerous people can love the same thing, but it's one I've come to use anyways due to my own interests in film and storytelling. I find I am more likely to enjoy a person's company if we have a similar likes/dislikes in movies. It's a personal preference.

Well, I wouldn't see that, but I'll go with a friend (male or female) to most things if they really want me to.

Depends on the woman, but ultimately, if the woman really cares about you, she knows what you like or don't like and wouldn't make you do something you didn't want to do. And vice versa.
