Im not defending the yay or nays .. but here's my 2 cents... "Too far" varies from person to person. If something someone else does is too far for you then you're more prudish then that person by definition. Odds are that you go "too far" by the standards of others who are more prudish than you.
Aside from cleanup I've never noticed any difference from having sex with my patents when they're not on their period. Some of my partners have found that sex helps with their cramping.
