i dont like people who are cleverer than me.... why? Obviously because they make me feel stupid- duh? haha ;)
I find intelligence sexy as hell.
intelligence, sophistication, maturity
the opposite is a complete turn off
Yes, sometimes a really intelligent girl can be intimidating in that you feel like she notices every little thing about you and you have to do everything exactly right or risk being made a fool. But of course it depends on the girl and how you get along. I don't think anyone really avoids girls because they're intelligent. Who enjoys talking to a dumb person anyway?
A female friend of mine once said in frustration, "Make one joke and you're immedieately in the friend zone." That's university dateing for you.
I like intelligence in a woman very much. When she challenges my stance on an issue, I like to be able to defend myself yet still be forced to leave my comfort zone and think in order to do so.
Although I have known women who were intelligent yet very prickly about it, determined to be right and throwing errata and data at me until I submitted. And on the other hand I've encountered women who are fiercely intelligent yet their emotions are timid and require oh so much work to encourage.
So I can say intelligence isn't intimidating to me, however what sometimes comes with it can overwhelm me.
you know, it's easy to say 'i want a super smart girl' here, and really, you might even mean it, but yeah, the truth of the matter is that once you find one, it's a whole different matter. since i don't claim to be the brains of the outfit, i'll cite my gf in this case - Berkeley graduate of the 4.0 variety, obviously smart, confident, very opinionated, and has had trouble keeping guys around for more then a few dates when being herself. to be honest, she intimiates ME at times! and i tend to get into that 'why are you with me, i'm not smart enough to keep you interested' modes at times, no matter how hard i try not to.
just something to throw out there - the ideal (dating a smart girl is super cool!) vs the real (dating a girl who makes me feel dumb just isn't that much fun - where's the bimbo's at?)
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.
intelligence in itself is not as intimidating as purposeful stupidity is.
What's intimidating, is the attitude of the particular intelligent person who his wielding their intellect as if it's the only tool in their kit. The Mensa member who reminds you constantly that she or he owns an IQ which is 97.68% higher than the other 6 billion people on this planet.
I'm not intimidated by any articulate person, I'm intimidated by a talent or skill which I have not attained, nor can hope to, in what time I might have left, in this life.
Smart, witty, clever humor is wonderful. Especially when it is natural and easy and does not come at the expense of others.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
Not for me, when you are this smart, you need someone who is at least smart enough to hold a conversation with you beyond the superficial small talk.
I was involved with someone for awhile who was my intellectual equal. I loved every single moment of it. Her intelligence was one of the strongest reasons I was attracted to her. I won't go into it, but I had to break things off with her for completely unrelated reasons. I still miss our mental "sparring matches".
The thing is that, as Doll pointed out, most guys are very much attracted to "airheads". I see an airhead and I want to push her down the stairs and take her out of the gene pool. I am very much turned off by them.
I think it's very odd that almost no one has admitted being attracted to them in this topic. I'll admit I used to be attracted to them when I was a teenager, but I outgrew that when I realized there wasn't anything more to them than looks.
Maybe the guys who like airheads just aren't posting in here or something, who knows? I just know this isn't what I see in real life.
The reviews are in. Here's what people are saying about FicklePickleTickle:
"BestCukeOnTheVine" - LusciousLola.
"Pickle juice rocks!" - curiousbutterfly.
"Pickles is really a jalapeño" - sw33tang3l
"Will someone make that guy sit down, my kids can't see the movie?!?" - Some guy in at the theater.
"Shouldn't he be wearing clothes if he's going to be in the wedding?" - Your mom.
"If FTP Eats A Pickle, Is That Cannibalism? " Nikki703
"FTP makes me wet. . ." - imhapless.
"Always thought he was dill but he's actually a sweet pickle." - kinkygirl.
I actually find intelligence extremely sexy. Jessica Simpson and similar "dumb blondes" are a turn off to me (but then again, I'm 55 years old.)
I prefer brains + looks:. Think Lauren Bacall, Kim Basinger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry, Kate Winslet, Veronica Lake, etc.
Intelligence is very sexy. Unless its just a lusty, animalistic, one-time-thing relationship, there has to be some good conversation in between the naked parts.
I do not consider intelligence to be intimidating. I like to have conversations with the people in my life and as I see it, an intelligent woman will have a lot to talk about. If a woman knows more than I do, I do not consider it intimidating, I consider it an opportunity to have wonderful conversations with someone who can teach me something. I do not have to feel like I know everything. Nobody knows everything and everyone can stand to learn something.
Intelligence is incredibly sexy, but there are also people who are very intelligent (book smart), but have no sense of social intelligence (street smarts).. trying to find a mix of that is the ultimate find.
Sprite, based on reading some of your stories, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, you seem to have that really good mix..
Intelligence is effing hot!
I think it intimidates many men. But, men are intimidated by what they lack. Sad but true. Guys are socialized to think that they have all the answers, be right (most of the time), be able to take care of any situation, strong emotionally, etc. Intelligence can be a threat to that upbringing.
Not at all nothing is a bigger turn off for me than a pretty woman who when she speaks sounds as bumb as a box of rocks! Lets face it we can't be screwing all the time! when were not a appreciate intelligent conversation.
Intelligence is not intimidating at all...it's preferred!!!!!
no i would rather have a girl smarter than me than a complete airhead slut
DD:
I can't believe you asked this question. You know better than anyone. Beauty and Brains the double negative. Or is that intimidation to the second power.
I find an intelligent woman, one with whom I can have great conversations on a great variety of subjects a total turn on. Life is so much more rewarding with lively and exciting conversation.
a intelligent woman is wonderful. you can actually have a meaningful conversation with one. I'm not talking about a genius, just intelligent If I can not have a conversation with a girl then there is really no point in even considering her for anything else. So no a intelligent girl is not intimidating, she is a welcomed partner in a conversation.
