My husband and I tend to be pretty open to trying just about anything, but there's been some things that we've never really gotten into, or never seemed to be able to get right.
When we were picking out a few things at the local adult shop, I spotted a Penny Flame Expert Guide video, and asked him if could handle watching it to learn how to do something a little bit better. He was a bit resistant, but he eventually agreed. We watched it together, and he was surprised to find out that he really could learn from it. I learned a fair amount myself, plus it was funny, well done, and certain sections of it got pretty hot. In short, it did the job just fine.
Guys, can you watch something like that with an open mind to learn how to please your partner better?
Would you see it as some sort of insult to your manhood if she pointed out your skills needed an upgrade?
If you can handle it, would you expect your partner to do the same if there was an area she wasn't that good in?

Anything that educate or inspires is a good thing. Anybody who thinks they know everything about sex/love is out of date. A couple of years ago, oral sex was frowned on, something that "nice" people didn't do. Now it's regarded as an almost vital part of the love making experience/experiment. As relationships change so do the requirement. Edu-porn is great, like life you need to study, revise and explore... if it makes your love-making more enjoyable, go for it.

I have noticed a positive trend in "Adult Entertainment" over the past 10 or 15 years--and that's the emergence of successful female directors. IMO, their work is generally more interesting, more arousing and has better production values than the work of most male directors.

I think this is a very good question. People can learn from anything and porn is no exception, edu-porn or regular porn. I don't know why anyone would resist learning.
Sexual guides are nothing new, the Kama Sutra is ancient. There are temples in the east and elsewhere with carvings depicting all sorts of sexual acts and positions. They were created for a purpose. Porn as a resource can work. No one is born, for example, with the knowledge of how to perform cunnilingus of fellatio, you can learn by trial and error or short cut the process with a little research.
Of course there is a lot to be said for trial and error with sufficiently motivated individuals.

Actually I have always thought that porn should be watched as science and as education. Almost everything we learn was shown to us: shoe laces, using untensils, writing, riding a bike etc....so why not sex. There is nothing worse that meeting someone who does not know what to do. Even worse is watching other people who do not know what to do. You almost want to go over and show them!

Any type of education is all good, even edu-porn. It goes right along with talking to your partner about likes and dislikes. Any person that can't take watching an educational porn video, male or female, is out of touch with reality. Nobody is an expert and can always learn something!

Being part of the industry I saw one of these vids before. There was nothing in it that I didn't already know so I thought it was a waste of time but for guys that need more game then yeah they definitely serve their purpose. Guys should educate themselves on how to please a woman if it doesn't come naturally to you and this is where these vids can really make their mark. Even with my own buddies they sometimes call me up to ask advice or some tips on how to drive their honies wild. It would be good to be able to direct them to vids like these instead.
