Not many nudist beaches here in cold rainy England. But there is a small section of beach on the south coast which is privately owned, fenced in and rented out to a nudist organisation during the summer months.
Even then it's seldom frequented - except on the few really warm days we get here ... and I've been there on one such day. Got fully stripped along with with what is now an ex b/f and thoroughly enjoyed the days experience of getting an all over, full body tan.

There's a nude beach in North Norfolk, which doesn't get much use. Must be something about the North Sea and the east winds 
But I've been there a few times with my mrs, and would be happy to go again if the sun was warm and the wind stopped. The lack of people there does sometimes get you into trouble, as once we didn't hide the fact that we were getting quite aroused, and made love on our towels, only to find two couples peering over the dune behind us. Prior to getting married I had been asked to go to a nude beach by three women that I had not had a "more than casual" relationship with and on one occasion it was a first date. There was only a small bit of awkwardness at first and that left within minutes. A populated nude beach seems to take the awkwardness away quickly since everyone is nude. One occassion in Europe was slightly different since there was not only nudity but open sexual play was also happening. True story- I took a summer job at a park in the western US. Near by was a hot spring, known only to the locals. Clothing was optional... Late one afternoon I went over for a dip in the hot springs by myself. I undressed and as I walked down to the pool I encountered two female employees, also naked coming up the path. Both were talking until we met face to face and then saw me. They were more than friends as I learned later but one of them was very annoyed we met. I found it greatly amusing and tried not to react to seeing their naked bodies until after they left (both were very attractive). I guess the moral of the story is you never know who you will encounter at a clothes optional facility - could be fun or embarrassing depending on your outlook.
By the way, there are many hot springs on the western US that have clothing optional areas, you don't have to go to a beach.

Good question, since I've never been to one. Ohio isn't exactly known for its nude beaches. If I was somewhere tropical where nude beaches were available, I'd most likely already be with someone I was comfortable with, and so yes, of course I'd do it. I've been seen naked by strangers before, and I'm very comfortable in my skin. In high school, I was the one asking friends to go with me to a secluded swimming-hole to skinny-dip, and I was always the first to get naked. However, if it was someone who was trying to date me, and I had already friend-zoned him, I wouldn't accept the invitation, because it would just be asking for trouble.
