I would like to have my brain stimulated first and I wasn't the sort to get ravished on a first date that was planned. Going home with a guy you met an hour earlier in a club to ravished is different altogether though!

I think it's important to remember that with few exceptions we all like both sides of the coin. The beginning of the date may determine how well (and potentially how sexadelic) the rest of the night (or morning, afternoon, etc.) goes for you, but as somebody who's legitimately been on a first date asked out as a woman, asked as a woman, been asked and asked as a man, I can tell you that it's not that complicated. People like different things, but it all boils down to two things: whether or not we're interesting to each other, and circumstance.
Circumstance is critical, my current partner and I, had a spectacular first couple of encounters, albeit very strange. We met through another guy (who was trying to date her) and wound up having a threesome with a totally different guy who neither o us were into, but he was an excellent catalyst. The point is, we had a great night of drinking and rolling around (with another dude) and then slowly waded into it after a long period of texting each other and didn't wind up in bed together again for weeks (at least not in a more than slightly sexy way.)
It's been my experience that most traditional "dates" turn out pretty boring, if only because they're a terrible forum for demonstrating that we can be interesting people.

On the first date, wined and dined, however it really depends on the person, everyone has their own preferences. Also if we are talking first date with a stranger than defiently wine and dine option, but like if it's first date with your boyfriend or girlfriend/relationship person in awhile then wine and dine option with the possiblity of being ravished later in the evening.
I don't "date" since I already have 2 boyfriends and a part-time girlfriend. If I add someone to my FWBs, I get to know them first as friends, then, if I think we'd be good in bed together, we fuck. No wining & dining necessary.

Definitely will depend on the circumstances. The who, when, where, why is a given. For me tho, I am a jeans and t-shirt kind a woman, so dinner at a nice steak house or Applebees or Olive Garden would be fine. With the right person it may be me doing the ravishing.........
