Why do women hate their men watching porn?

I've never understood why women take the watching of porn so seriously or to heart. Personally, I quite enjoy watching porn and reading erotica, both with and without my partner being there. So can anyone explain the issues women have with this?

A girl that I know broke up with her ex because he watched porn... and I have a date with her tomorrow, which happens to be my twentieth birthday. lol So if I go out with her, no more porn (to her knowledge anyway lol)

I have no problem with the person I am with, Man or Woman, watching porn or reading erotic stories, as long as it doesnt hurt our sex life. And I enjoy it when we read or watch it together, although I really dont watch porn much anymore, prefer erotic stories so much more!!

I don't think i'd really have much of a problem with it but i guess some women feel that their partner should be more attracted to them rather than the lady with the enormously fake tits.

Does this mean women shouldnt watch sports because they should be more attracted to their guy than the incredibly tight bodied athletes?

It's pretty obvious why some have a problem with it.... it's your bloke, getting off on another woman. I don't mind my boy saying 'she's good looking' but I wouldn't want to know that he wants to get himself off whilst looking at her... if that makes sense.

I don't mind if someone I'm with wants to watch porn without me, but I'd rather not know the details of it smile

If I masturbated habitually to a collection of pics and videos of my favorite athletes, even going so far as to choose doing so over being intimate with my boyfriend, then yes, I would imagine he might have a problem with it.

Substitute "athletes" with "porn stars", and "boyfriend" with "girlfriend" or "wife" and we have the root cause of all the hard feelings that some women have about men watching porn.

OK, point taken. But does the original question refer to him just watching porn, or neglecting his wife/Gf because he watches porn. I took it as women objecting to him watching porn even if it doesnt hurt their sex life. And that is what I dont agree with!!

I think there's a stigma out there about porn, and the stigma asserts that there's no middle ground: either the man watches it and begins to prefer it to intimacy with his spouse, or he steers clear completely. I'm sure that the former happens all the time, but I'm equally sure that some women just have a hard time being open-minded about it.

I am sure you are right Many people are very close-minded to porn and a lot of other things that arent "vanilla". But watching porn can actually improve their sex life too. May help him get more creative.
