...what are the drawbacks of that particular method...

Thank you.
The main drawback of any of them would be failure.
My Republican legislators have recommended I put an aspirin between my knees, but the guys keep hiding my aspirin bottle, so I find a bc pill in my mouth every day works much better.
I have used them all at times.
For about 20 years now I have used the contraception pill. My Gyno has kept up to date with the changes and has now got me on a low dose one which has been working perfectly for a few years. I could easily be a test case for a manufacturer as they have been thoroughly tested so many times with frequency and volume of core material and never failed.
The worst experiences I have ever had were with Spermicide. Condoms were used more fun than a contraceptive. The only scares I have had - way back- were with the withdrawal method and the guys invariably were always late out of the blocks on that one.
I can never remember to take a pill each day, so I have been using an IUD for the last 6 years and I like it, works well for me...plus the hormones in the BC pills messed with my moods too much. A bonus with the IUD, your periods are almost non existent.
Spiral, i used to take pills but they made me lose any urge i had to have sex
When I was swinging with my ex, I was on the pill and after we split, I used a diaphragm.
At my age, no need for it! Well many years ago the hubby got a vasectomy. As I have been monogamous with him I did not need to worry about birth control for many years.
However during my fertile years there were a number of methods. Prior to getting married there were condoms and I also used contraceptive foam. After marriage I used the pill even though in the 70's they were still working very hard to fine tune it. My gyno tried me on a number of different formulas. After child number one I used an IUD and found it great. This was a second generation of IUD and I had no problems whatsoever. Following child number two I had another IUD. Then hubby had the snip job.
Contraception?? What's that....lol.
Husband has had a vasectomy now and that is by far the best.
Pill never agreed with me like one of the previous posts I lost all sexual appetite. From that point of view it worked a treat.
I have tried wihdrawal but quickly learnt that once a guy is inside there is often no stopping them so I wouldnt recommend that
