Oh, and I'll try to refrain from commenting at all the eye-rolling and sarcasm by people in this thread to a newbie's first post. If people are that frustrated by size questions, then they shouldn't feel compelled to post in every single size thread if only to brow beat the OP. As I've said before - replying to threads is not mandatory. The attitude is getting predictable as well. Zzzzz....

But in fact, you did comment on it. LOL And frankly, is was no different than the posts you seem to take issue with. Funny how that works isn't it?
Just something to think about... I do like you though.

No, if you're measuring correctly, it's not too small.
I've C&P'd some of the data from the link LiquidMatthew posted, but it's got some interesting facts and figures and more speaks to the fact that the endless self-claimed 9 inchers are clearly either measuring from their assholes or just gratuitously adding 2 inches in the same way that women often subtract 10lbs from their self-claimed weight. I guess people are inclined to want to present themselves in an impressive way, but as long as measurements are real/accurate, then you are technically above average at 7 inches.

It's not offending me. But I like seeing people (especially newbies or younger posters) being welcomed a little more graciously sometimes. I've noticed a trend in certain threads lately by various posters. Just putting my two cents in in general.

I totally agree. It would be like a person going to a bar or club or party, asking a question and everyone points and laughs. Chances are that person isn't going to go to that place anymore.
A newbie probably doesn't even know there IS a search function.

Honestly, I understand the views posted.... but the righteous indignation is very selective. I went through this thread again and looked for what could REALLY be the problem, and compared to many other threads still going strong with NO chastising happening, this is a pretty mild thread to say the least. Indeed, I think the membership in general could be a little more gentle and show more grace, TO EVERYONE not just "new" members. But that is just what I think, opinions may vary.
I will do my best to be even more gentle with new members, or to just ignore them (I am sure THAT will make them feel welcome too) when they ask questions that have been asked time and again. But in all honesty, I think it is not that they are being confronted, but by whom they are being confronted by or who made the comments. This is also common on forums though, double standards depending on how popular you are, or even who you are in general. Change the name of who made the post and "no problem!". Now don't misunderstand me, I am not upset about this... not at all. But if chastising is to be made, it should be done evenhandedly and everything about it looked at honestly. And that was not seen here, or elsewhere on the forum.
Just things to think about....

I don't want to belabour this point. The OP had been on the site for less than 24 hrs. He asked a question about size with a poll attached in the 'ask the girls' forum.
He was then very openly mocked in a way that I think oversteps the lines when it's post after post against him. I've seen it happen with a few other newbie forum members in recent weeks. I took this opportunity to express my opinion that we should try to be a little more tolerant with new members. ie. giving someone a chance to get their footing in the forums.
Once people know their way around the forums and search functions and are semi-regular posters, I think people can handle a little more heat, since we're all adults. Sometimes members even look for it and thrive on it. Those members usually know who can handle it and who can't. I think newbs should be excluded from that if they're just asking straightforward questions (whether we think they're repetitive or not). It's pretty easy to skip a thread if the topic doesn't interest you.
It has nothing to do with popularity or double standards or who said what. It's also not meant to be directed at anyone in particular. It's a general opinion/comment that I think applies to a lot of people. I've watched some newbs handle stuff like this with aplomb but yeah - I saw the OP was an 18 yr old asking his first Q - and sure, I'm going to stick up for him because I could see the tides on this thread turning. It seemed like a good opportunity to make my point... And add my opinion about penis sizes, of course.
