I'm looking at this from a multiplayer point of view. Stories are good for maybe one or two playthroughs, but a great game has a great multiplayer.
GTA 4 - Terrible Multiplayer and extremely boring.
GTA 5 - Awesome story, still needs tweaks to multiplayer but will eventually get boring which is the problem with GTA.
Bioshock - Heard the story is the only thing going for it.
La Noire - Same as Bioshock
Battlefield - Possibly the only sensible/reasonable game on the list to even compete with Halo 3's experience.
CoD - Ha Ha Ha, next joke please.
Halo 3 on the other hand, I got it in 2007, started playing multiplayer in 2008 and after 5 years of multiplayer I'm still not bored of it. It has a mediocre campaign but it definitely makes up with it on the multiplayer. It's extremely competitive and unlike CoD and Battlefield, it has a fine line between good and bad players as well as actually having to put effort into the game to become good at it. With CoD and Battlefield, you can just pick the game up and start doing well as they are "point and shoot" games. As for the conflict between CoD and BF fanboys/girls. Battlefield is far better where as CoD is essentially an old game with a fresh lick of paint each year.
The thing is with many people, they throw their opinions out there without any real thought or logic. I at least have points to back my opinion of the game up. Halo 3 is the best game of the decade.

By that logic great games didn't exist before multiplayer which is silly. Tbh halos not a far leap behind bf to being a yearly release and it's already on the casual level cod is. Shooters like that were one of the worst thigs about this generation ahead of dlc, microtransactions, drm an patches.

You're talking about the recent Halo's, I'm talking about Halo 3. One game. Not the shit that it's become afterwards. Halo 3 was in no way "casual" and even to this date it remains to be a competitive game. And yeah great games didn't exist before multiplayer. Single player games are only fun for 1-2 playthroughs. Sonic was always more fun co-op. Same with Super Mario.
End of discussion. I'm not being part of this poxy argument anymore.
