Serious inquiry -
a co worker of mine, 30 years old, is sadly getting divorced after 8 years.
He is the quiet and shy type and wasn't expecting to be in this situation ever again.
Since I've been out of the game for so long now, I feel a bit lost trying to boost his spirits.
What is a good way to meet women that are interested in relationships these days?

People working for the Trump administration are saying they can't find anyone who will date them because of their involvement in this reprehensible administration. Maybe your friend should move to Washington, D.C. and hit the club scene.

Beffer, you are so smart in so many ways, but yet so biased when it comes to Trump. Booming Economy, Low Unemployment, Rising Salaries, More Minorities working than ever, no Rockets flying out of NOKO for the minute. These should count for something.

I know you and many others are still in shock, but Clinton lost you need to accept the fact.

Back to the germane point of this thread. Very simple you need to go where the type of woman in which you are interested in go. It could be kids activities, or a painting class or politics. May not be Golf Lessons or Auto Repair to a great degree.

Oh well, my original post didn't produce many helpful responses.
Thank you ChandlerAja2 for trying to bring this back, but I just can't let the first part go...
I am not upset that Clinton lost... but I am much more upset that this fool/buffoon/liar won...

As much as Trump loves to take credit and people repeat it (without checking the facts), you have to sort out the facts from the lies/scams/untruths.

Anyone remember "alternative facts"?
The very definition of "fact" is Knowledge or information based on real occurrences. Something that actually exist, reality, truth. Alternative facts must then not exist? Not based in reality or truth?

Much of the "Booming economy" was set into motion way before he took over. Trump did help (after first rejecting it) by signing a tax law that added at least $1.5T to the national debt. Remember that while the corporate tax reductions were made permanent, the individual ones were not. They will flip back in the next few years. Low unemployment? During the campaign he rejected unemployment figures as made up and not trustworthy. As soon as they work in his favor, he loves them.

He flip flops on issues so quickly. He is for the immigration plan. Then he is against it. Maybe later, he is for it again.

He gets simple facts wrong, such as claiming that Henry Ford invented the assembly line (it was Olds) and that Franklin D. Roosevelt served 16 years (it was 12). He said that Canada burned down the White House. He thought Fredrick Douglas was still alive. He also said the European Union was created “to take advantage of the United States” even though it was created after World War II with the aim of ending bloody conflicts on the continent — and with the active support of the United States.

He has admitted molesting many women and cheating on his 3 wives.
It amazes me that women actually support him.

He has admitted that "fake" news is any news that he doesn't like.

Most of what he says is simply made up or wrong:
(note: I used some of the fake news articles to compile this list as I neither have the time nor inclination to continuously track his lies).
2016: I'm going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it!!!
He also said that the wall estimates of $10-15B were outrageous. He was such a good deal maker, he could build it for $4B... then $6B, then $8B
Now he wants Congress to pay $25B to pay for the wall that he admits a $20 piece of rope will defeat. Plus the DEA says that most of the illegal drugs now come into the country from Mexico via tunnels!!!
Why not hire the Mexicans and other Central Americans that are already there to build the wall? Saves labor costs! They are already there!
After the wall is built, they could be the toll collectors for the cartel's tunnel operations.

JAN. 21 “I wasn't a fan of Iraq. I didn't want to go into Iraq.” (He was for an invasion before he was against it.)
JAN. 21 “I have been on Time 14 or 15 times. I think we have the all-time record in the history of Time magazine.” (Trump was on the cover 11 times and Nixon appeared 55 times.)
JAN. 30 “Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning. Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage.” (At least 746 people were detained and processed, and the Delta outage happened two days later.)
FEB. 7 “And yet the murder rate in our country is the highest it’s been in 47 years, right? Did you know that? Forty-seven years.” (It was higher in the 1980s and '90s.)
MARCH 4 “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” (There's no evidence of any wiretap)
MARCH 7 “122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!” (113 of them were released by President George W. Bush.)
APRIL 2 “Now, my last tweet — you know, the one that you are talking about, perhaps — was the one about being, in quotes, wiretapped, meaning surveilled. Guess what, it is turning out to be true.” (There is still no evidence.)
APRIL 11 “I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late. I had already beaten all the senators and all the governors, and I didn’t know Steve.” (He knew Steve Bannon since 2011.)
APRIL 28 “The trade deficit with Mexico is close to $70 billion, even with Canada it’s $17 billion trade deficit with Canada.” (The U.S. had an $8.1 billion trade surplus, not deficit, with Canada in 2016.)
MAY 8 “You know we’ve gotten billions of dollars more in NATO than we’re getting. All because of me.” (The deal was struck in 2014.)
SEPT. 29 “With the F-35 fighter plane – me, myself – I've saved hundreds of millions of dollars in negotiating.” (The cost cuts were planned before he became president.)
OCT. 17 “We're the highest-taxed nation in the world. We are taxed beyond belief.” (Taxes in the U.S. are lower than in most developed countries.)
OCT. 25 “We have trade deficits with almost everybody.” (We had trade surpluses with more than 100 countries.)
More recently he said, "I know Mr Manafort. Haven’t spoken to him for a long time, but I know him". He also said "Paul played only a “limited role” in the campaign." Paul Manafort was the campaign CHARIMAN!!!

He criticized Obama for taking vacations with his family. Obama spent roughly $97M total during his 8 years. Trump has exceeded that amount in just his first year! $100M each year of taxpayer's money for him to watch Fox News and create tweet storms.

He talks about pardoning himself a LOT. Well he likes talking about himself a LOT. If he has done nothing wrong, why is he worried about the need to pardon himself?
His current scheme is to cry "witch hunt" and hope that enough people will believe that so he can stop it before whatever he is worried about comes to light.
If he's done nothing wrong, he shouldn't be afraid or have to pardon himself.

He does seems to like and admire dictators.

Perhaps next we should discuss the emoluments clause of the constitution.

Very true...
I can't take all of the credit...
I had good material to work with.

The fact that it bothers my sleep and keeps me awake at night is troublesome.

Well going back to the original question as I know nothing about US Politics .

The message I give to most singletons is just get out there. Being at home sulking or sat in front of the TV isn't going to find you a partner unless internet dating is your thing. Socialising is a key issue and one of the ways to do that is to get out with a group of friends or join a club ( eg hobbies) , gym etc whereby socialising opportunities will occur. Small steps as they say .

If you feel close enough to this guy then with your Oh's permission , why not act as his wingman ?

Thanks Black1.
I would not be a good wingman. The age difference (about 30 years) would be an issue.
I would not think he'd have much luck meeting gals with his "father" with him (even though we are not related).
Plus I was never that good with the ladies, which is why I thought this forum might be the place to ask for some advice.

As he is the quiet, shy type, he's not great in new social situations. Once you get to know him, he is actually quite nice.
I suggested Toastmasters to him as a way to get more confident in new situations, but that went over with a resounding thud.
Pity, as Toastmasters has Table Topics which is excellent for handling new topics and situations.

All of his hobbies are not conducive to meeting gals. He likes running and disc golf.

Since you on the far left do not seem to want to Accept what comes out of the Departments of Defense, Commerce or Labor. Where do you get all this valuable and accurate data?

Always interesting that you that hate the President so much are not very forth coming with sources of what you call facts.

If this booming economy was the creation of Obama and Trump just fell into it at the opportune time. Why did it take beyond the last Administrations life to take effect.

I would never argue this President is without flaws and I have no plans to Chair a movement for Sainthood.

Forget the little stuff, measure a President on what we hired him to do and at this point he has been doing rather well.

Think what it could be if he had not had to spend so much time reversing all those Obama Executive Orders, Rules and Regulations.

Trump would not have been my first choice, but in comparison to Clinton what choice did the people of the Country have? Even one of us Lushies would have been better.

I have asked this before, WHEN HAS A TAX CUT RESULTED IN LOWER REVENUE TO THE TREASURY?

I know you on the Extreme Left find it painful, but the generally accepted answer is N E V E R. At least not in almost the last 100 years. Now was that so painful?

Now can we get back to looking to help in finding hot sexy women for that friend in need.
