Of course it depends on where I'm going, how long I'm staying, and how I'm traveling. If I'm staying overnight I almost always take something fun. If I'm flying I'm pretty careful about what I pack. Glass toys and soft rubber ones fly fine. Leave the handcuffs at home. Heck they are kept in a suitcase at home, so they are easy to grab and throw in the car.
