I've never used one but have used the 3 month shot that was @ 50 bucks. Worked great!
I loved the patch. They have recently come out and said that it carries a slightly greater risk of blood clots than other forms of birth control, but it was a great option for me. I ended up stopping it after about a year due to some other health issues, but while I used it it worked great. The only thing I would warn you about is: 1. If you wear it on your arm/shoulder people will continuously ask you if it's a nicotine patch. 2. I highly suggest not wearing it on your butt (which is one of the options) because it can get stuck to a pair of snug jeans.

I also am horrible at remembering to take pills. I do the shots, only have to worry about going in 4x a year for it.
