On story sites that have categories people shouldn't read a type of story that they are certain not to like because they don't like that particular kind of story. If someone hates the thought of adultery I can't imagine why they would read a story about it. Some people just like to gripe, of course, and some people just want to be negative, but there is also a great double standard about women enjoying sex under any circumstances, but especially if they're cheating on their husbands. Stories that show women as free spirits get a lot of negative feedback in general because they don't fit with some people's ideal. There are a lot of people who think women shouldn't be enjoying sex and are annoyed and angered by the fact that they do.
And some people are just assholes.
I thought I'd share another one I just got. These are actually becoming quite humorous.
"This is unbelivably bad. No one would put up with that from any girlfriend. He should have flogged her ass raw, stuck a stick of dynamite up there and lit it. If you are going to write something make it at least semi believeable."
He contradicts himself. He sounds like he's believing it by suggesting what should happen. What an idiot.
I have found on another "well known" site, anonymous comments were allowed for many years. And those often tended to be the worst type, and voted down many quality stories. I never understood why a site would allow anonymous anything when there are story tags and a disclaimer before the first lines of a story about the content.
Now, if I read a story I disliked I am not going to continue to read on and vote it poorly. That is just idiotic.
Different genres attract different readers and different critics. My stories seem to flush out a mix of men who lust for their daughters or a daughter figure or creepy guys who want to share their purportedly real life personal accounts of . Creepy? Heck yeah and that's one reason I stopped writing those stories. I've also written stories about hubby and I, which attract a tamer but nicer group of "relationship romantics." And then there was the one story I wrote about an extra-marital encounter which brought out pervy men who wanted me and angry men who hated me - both of whom I suspect are cut from the same cloth. My attitude? If you don't like it then don't read it; otherwise leave me alone.
Personally me adultery not a subject matter that runs me on I actually find it a turn off big time but hey that's just me as others have said to each their own. It's really simple if you don't like the subject matter just don't read about it plain and simple. Why waist your time and the authors time to write a negative comment in the first place just plain stupid.
Yeah, its kind of funny. I have people that write and say "I hate every one of your stories!"
I'm like...and you still haven't stopped reading after the first 49 I wrote??
I've been slowly trying to infiltrate the minds of these people, but its been a difficult task. There seems to be a deep-seeded misogynism involved with most of them. They seem to think that the male character should always act with hatred and violence against any female character that shows any sexuality. I actually wrote a story about a woman who found out her husband had cheated on her, then tied him up and made him watch while she fucked another man. Again, all the negative comments were towards the woman even though she was the one getting revenge.
It seems its not so much "cheating" that angers them. Its cheating women. As well as swingers, or men that enjoy watching their wives/ girlfriends. They call them 'wimps' although that doesn't really make sense to me.
I'll check that one out. most of my stories on lit averaged about 30,000 views and a couple in the 60,000 range. Now that I think about it I'm surprised I didn't get more negative feedback
I think I got off topic a bit. back to adultery.
