How do you choose which category to put a story in?

My latest story could be placed in several categories, and I'm trying to determine what I should have done. I choose voyeur because that was what the story was building to, but it was of multiple individuals masturbating. Now with that in mind, I could have chosen masturbation despite it being more about watching this.

My question, when choosing a category, do you choose based on where it should go, natural to story, or where it will get more views?

The category you choose to submit your story into should be the one most relevant to your storyline. It's just a case of using a bit of common sense really.

People who submit stories into unrelated/irrelevant categories will usually find that the moderator will change this prior to approving it.

I have a list of all the catagories up on the wall - i simply closes my eyes, toss a dart, and whichever it hits, i put it in that one.

Someone on another board said the trick was to pick the category that would piss off the fewest readers. Just FWIW, most stories can fit into more than one category...some many, many more.

Most stories will fit into many genres. You have to decide which type of reader you want to appeal to. Some may be enticed by the ' ' genre, some may prefer 'masturbation' genre.

You may want to look at all the genres on Lush and see which gets the highest viewing...
