I can't speak for everyone, but for me? Not so much. Any specific comment left anywhere is of zero interest to me.

I think the crux of this thread is a general discussion of tone, as it pertains to story feedback, whether it be comments, posts, or messages. I admit that I did have to re-read the entire thread to makes sure I could still think straight- four pages later this can get a bit tricky, but since you've conveniently deleted all of your input on the matter, this exercise was made much shorter.

I'll say it again, I'm really surprised that is really even an issue, and the only thing I'm puzzled about is what opposition there could possibly be to exercising a modicum of civility when leaving feedback for authors. Perhaps DB, you are the wrong person to pose this question to, as you seem to be more interested in which of your comments have pissed people off than in the general issue.

I'd like it if I was wrong about that, but if not, then it looks like you'll have to ask a fifth time for any takers.

This thread's been an interesting read!

To be honest I can't remember seeing any offensive/brutal comments left at the end of any stories here. People seem to be generally pretty polite and if anything heap on the praise. The constructive feedback I've seen has always been well delivered.

If I received a comment that had an attacking tone to it, I'd either leave it there to encourage other readers to agree or give an opposing view (it'd give me a better idea of how the story is being received) or click on 'report offensive post'.

But to lighten our lives ..a little ditty just in ...(true! No idea)

Outside Bristol Zoo there is a carpark where cars and coaches
can park. There was also a nice bloke with a hat and ticket machine
charging cars £1 and coaches £5.This parking attendent worked there for
about 25 years , then one day didn't turn up for work...Ho hum say Bristol
Zoo management- Better phone up Bristol City Council and get them to send
a new parking attendant......

Totally fair comment. And props to the commenter for getting through three paragraphs. I quit partway through the second. I cannot comment on the story, because I have no idea what it might be... but the writing is pure shit.
