any erotic story writers at a reasonable price?

Am trying to find a reasonably priced author to work on a short story/scenario for me but not had any luck.

Someone I talked to came back to me with a $200 cost for a story. I really had no idea one would cost this much. I don't want an entire perfect epic novel or something just a shortish story about a specific scenario I had in mind. Are there any known authors/sites that have erotic story writers who charge more reasonable rates based on the length of the story?

It must have slipped your notice that all writers here upload their stories for free. Sometimes people will offer, sometimes not. Sometimes a person might gift a gold or platinum membership for writing them a story however there are some who do it for the practice

I think what Cheryl meant was that it's very difficult to write a story adhering to someone else's ideas and inspiration rather than writing your own work. There's a kind of pleasure a writer gets from completing a piece that's entirely their own. Writing for somebody else is more of a chore and not nearly as rewarding. E.g. I could bake a cake for myself (yes, it would be solely for me) and would love doing it, but if I were to bake a cake for a stranger, even if they provided the ingredients I would really expect some kind of payment.

Professional rates (5 cents a word) for a 3000 word story would be about $150. I would write a story for $50 or so about whatever the OP wants, but it would take me longer than a week and might end up being very odd (though I'd try very hard to stay away from tentacles) (no promises!).

It absolutely is. A few hundred for a short story (and that is a LOT to get paid for a short story) that takes a week to write is not gonna pay the rent. The few full time writers I know work their asses off, and write ALL THE TIME to make it work. They publish their own stuff, they get picked up by anthologies, they take ghost-writing work, they spend a ton of time on promotion and networking.

As for your earlier question, Duotrope (awesome searchable database, it's how I find places to submit) defines semi-pro as 1-5 cents a word, pro 5 cents a word and up.

the situation isn't quite as clear cut as this 'Trinket' makes it seem. Basically I asked her a story request about a guy being teased about his average sized manhood being measured and she replies with a story she had anyway about anal sex and a guy with a 1 inch dick (?!?!) totally random and not really anything like I asked (the link was dead also) and sure I replied with a "wtf?!" type reaction which rubbed her up the wrong way and I got a small barrage of sass from her then I told her to fuck herself after she told me off. That was all it. Of course being the guy against a woman I'm painted as the ultimate villain by default.

So yeh I see something about some people wanting to do a story for gold membership as payment or?! not sure how this works. Please someone tell me.
