Dannielle my dear, I live in the Northeast United States and we are said to speak "Elizabethan English"
on the south coast of Massachusetts. The Elizabeth being referred to is Elizabeth I.
We say Wrath just as you now describe it, that is, with an "a" as in OUR way of saying "Cat" or our "at,"
"sat," "pat," "rat," "that" etc.
The "a" is shown on a phonemes chart as the short "a."
