I'm rather new here. I'm enjoying the site. I've now posted four stories and two poems, which have been fairly well received. I did notice the category of Erotic Horror. I had never delved into this genre but the title helped to germinate an idea in my brain of what I think would be a great story. Problem is, I think the shock and horror in the story would cause it to be rejected as it seems to maybe, perhaps, just slightly go against the guidelines. Damn! I'm gonna write it anyway as it is really coming along well but I just wish I could put it out to be read by those who like to be horrified. I'm trying to create an atmosphere that borrows from The Masque of the Red Death, The Cask of Amontillado, and No Country for Old Men. In other words it concerns a female psychopath who puts a man in bondage before pulling out a pair of very sharp scissors. Eek! Yes, but unlike the three stories, no violence is done, no one dies, and the man is released. But the threats that she makes will probably cause the censors to get uptight. Oh well, I kinda get it but in another way I don't ... so ... Damn!
You should ask the mod team, but I’ve had similar questions about violence/ blood in stories. It seems as long as the violence and threats are not happening during a sexual scenario or orgasm (and the threats don’t include things clearly banned in the tos), it might be fine. There are actually quite a few stories on here that include murder ‘on screen’ if you will. Just no excessive descriptions of the gore (you should confirm with a mod though). If you want, I can pm you the stories I’m talking about so you can get an idea of what’s acceptable within the horror genre.
I’ve asked some pretty weird tos questions, and the mod team has always been happy to help.
Ok, the story is coming along! I am very pleased with it. I've written a good start, a finish, and bits in between. I need to tie them all together smoothly which is a bit of a challenge in parts. I like the way it is coming around. It is definitely not gore for the sake of being gore. In fact, for the first thousand words there is no sign, except for little hints, that anything is up. The horror is delayed to increase the impact. I think it's great. I'm gonna finish it and post it. If it doesn't go through, so be it. It will mainly scare the shit out of men, so hopefully I get a female moderator who says: "Yeah, go ahead, he deserves it!"
