I notice how people like to read stories that are not possible for experience in real life, in the categories and also my story progress. I think the selection of categories pretty accurately reflects the range of stories people like to read and write. After all, there is a link at the bottom to a contact form that allows one to suggest new categories. Surely at least a few of the categories didn't exist at the start and were added to the site by request/demand.
