Am I the only one that skips over material looking to get to the sex part and hoping to find it in detail?
Wish we had a rating for sex content. : )
What type of sex story do you prefer? Porn or Novel?
Torture the data long enough and they will confess to anything.
If I want to be inspired, I’ll read a novel. If I need some funny adult entertainment, I’ll watch porn.
The two are not incompatible - there are novels which are pornographic and pornographic stories which are not long enough to be called novels.
I won't open a whole other can of worms by mentioning erotic v. pornographic!
Novel porn. I want to have my cake, and I want to eat it, too.
Porn if I need a quick release. Novel if I want to be seduced.
i want story with my porn - it it's just a bunch of sex, it's boring. i want to get invested in a story and in the characters and THEN get lots of hot kinky sex.
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.
Yes I would classify erotic writing as porn. Writing about sex is the same as producing it to view.
Torture the data long enough and they will confess to anything.
For myself to really get worked up I need to get into the head of the characters and learn where and why it's happening, so I would go with novel porn. Being capable of getting into the personality of the characters just makes it all that more tantalizing.
I prefer an erotic novel with great sex, a plot and some intrigue and I'm currently trying to write one.
If we're talking about erotica, I like a combination of storyline and graphic sex, and that's pretty much the standard I hold myself to when I write as well.
Stroke stories bore me and rarely seem to involve quality writing. Having said that - if you're creating characters and a storyline, you need to understand pacing and how to keep the reader's interest and action/motivation moving towards the sex scenes. In the erotica genre - the sex scene should be the climactic high point of the story/plot... Otherwise it's just a novel that happens to have some sex in it.
Porno's can be fun and all, show us things we like to see. But a good novel lets you us your imagination to see in your mind what you want. The words wash over you and before you know it you absorbed into the story, seduced by it.
Of course, I am a man, so I would be remiss if I said I didn't like porn to a degree, but it really only serves one purpose: Entertainment. A good novel induces more than just entertainment. A novel can stimulate all the senses and allow the reader to become part of what they are reading. Words evoke feelings that can happen in a natural state and have more meaning.
"So don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
Don't lie to me,
Just get your things.
I've made up your mind."

i like them both but if i can to choose just one i'd go for the novel
Well, i wouldn't call a story with a build up a 'Novel' but that's what i'd go for. I think that for the 'porn' to work the characters have to be established before the sex arrives. I can't stand it when people just throw out a random sex scene with characters and scenes which you can't visualise.
I think Sprite and Dancing Doll have hit it right on the head. If it’s just sex, it’s boring. There needs to be a combination of storyline and artistically described, graphic sex. But if we are not invested in the story or the characters, it loses its impact and ability to arouse.
Novel, leaves more to the imagination.
I like a plot with erotic scenes, for the most part, and that's what I write.
I like short erotica, but I can't read a long book where the entire point and purpose is porn.
To me a novel is more like building a roaring campfire, then sitting around it all night long, feeding it occasionally, keeping it contained, never allowing it to starve.
Porn, eh...that's when I've doused the neighbor's eyesore shed with several liters of diesel fuel, set it ablaze and then happily watched it burn to the scorched earth from a safe distance away.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
I like to read the story as a whole. that way u no the background stuff. call me mushy, but im more of a romantic, background story type of guy, makes the sex content that much more enjoyable.GNTJciYAIzhlNehV
