I look at the catagory it is classified as, the tags attached, and then read the first couple of lines to get a feel for the story. I will even read stories that in catagories I have zero interest in because I love a good story.
Sex is not the answer. Sex is the question. "Yes" is the answer. ~Swami X

well I started by reading from category's of my interest, and then using the suggestions at end expanded into others until I started my account. from there I started read the stories of friends. how ever, if it doesn't grab me in first few paragraphs I move on. I don't always score them unless I really like it. not going to give low score just because it wasn't what I wanted. I especially like continued threads. I have list of who I follow but have come to not read them when new stories fome out unless it grabs me. however I have noticed some not writing any more. if you tickle my eye I will read
The stories here are fantastic. We have some really good writers. I never have enough time to read the ones I want. I think a great headline helps and if I recognize the name of the writer as a friend.
I will typically read stories written by friends, commented/scored by friends, and/or people who I find interesting in the forums. I usually only read the stories that are in genres that I am interested in (i.e., is a turn off for me, so I don't read those). I think I actually read stories on Lush for about 18 months before I joined.
I try to read all my friends stories, but i especially like the spanking stories and love stories...
doing my best to be good..
If someone i've been chatting with asks, or a friends, i try my best to read their story. I also look to the EP section and people's first stories.
I go with themes that tend to arouse me
I go with themes that tend to arouse me also, just depends on my mood.
Veni, vidi, vici" Julius Caesar 47 BC
I usually search for words or in categories. Wife slut, cuckold, gang, dogging, humiliation! My faves!
First: Category
Second: Tags
Third: The one-liner

The first few paragraphs typically determine if I want to continue
reading the story. And sometimes, all I need are the first few
paragraphs to get my fill for the day, rate and/or comment.
Are you truly awake?
Stories that the authors I like have favorited.
Stories of the authors I follow.
Recomendations from my friends.

Lately whenever I want something totally new and diferent, I use the random button... works wonders.
IF THE TITLE OR FIRST FEW SENTANCES DOESN'T GET MY ATTENTION......I MOVE ON
when i joined the lush i use to check love poems... then liked few writers and started checking their work..and few became my friends so when they publish i do read yes...
First thing, it depends on my mood. My mood tells me which category I want to read and then the title that draws my attention and if the first paragraph sounds interesting I'll read it all.

I also read stories from friends as well and people I'm following and if someone asks me nicely to give them an opinion on their story I'll read it too.

Really easy! I look for the one's written by Sprite biggrin

YES! Also I check through my favorite categories and read the first few sentences, if I make it to the end of that I'll usually open the story.
I pick regardless of author. If the story grabs me, I'll read it. Usually all that is needed is the first few lines. The title and one liner help too. Sometimes I see someone's forum post and decide to check out their profile and then realise that I have, in fact, read some of their stories and when that happens it's always a nice surprise.
1. Stories by the authors I follow. The follow function makes sure I don't miss stories by the authors I enjoy reading.
2. Stories by friends, but there is a lot of crossover between them and the authors I follow.
3. Stories that start with a great hook in the title, tags, one-liner, or first few lines, although I usually skip the stories in categories that seem to have few gems. I like novels.
My latest story is too hot to publish. My most recent story before that is Even Stranger In Lust
I have got to know many authors so I read stories by people that I know write good ones. A well thought out title helps catch my eye. An interesting and intelligent teaser sentence that sounds interesting. If they are older stories the number of votes/comments and a good score get my attention. The genre is huge!
I do a combination of Buz and Gurlyboy. I have a slew of authors I follow so I get lots of email with such divine stories to read when I'm not able to log into lush.
Bunker Love
My Dream my latest stopry
I read the authors I follow first and I just browse around.
I am working my way through my friends list and reading their stories. then I will read stories of people who follow me and those who have commented on my stories. I am also reading all the current competition stories.
It all depends on what I'm in the mood for and how much the first few lines interest me. I really don't have a specific way of choosing the stories I read. One thing that greatly influences my decision though is the story's grammar. I get easily turned off by a poorly written story that has the potential to be great but has suck-ish grammar.
Just do it! Life won't wait for you and I don't think I will either!
if there are no new stories from the authors i follow, i usually check my fave categories, then look out for interesting taglines/ summary provided, or the first few lines.
I tend to read stories by female authors first. I usuallyfind them more erotic and arousing.
For me just scrolling and finding an interesting story title does the trick.
Recently I fall in love with Random Story button, I can get surprised on purpose, what can be better than that!??! I discovered some really authors trough that button smile
I look through the categories for something I'll like. smile

If a story is rated lower, I am curious enough to see what it was that caused someone to vote as they did. Once I find it, I may mention it to the author. I try and be helpful in that way and hopefully it leads to a writer's improvement.
