Just relaxing watching Blade Runner tonight. Thought I'd pose a question.
And yes, I'm a bloke and I love a good RomCom. A quality one that is. The last several years, the genre has been lame as hell before Silver Linings Playbook came along. Though, thinking about it, the movie isn't your typical RomCom at all.
Anyway, list your three favorite. And include why your #1, is your #1.
#1 Roxanne: Quite possibly my favorite Steve Martin movie period. Classic romantic comedy tale. The humor is downright hilarious and Martin pulls off the role perfectly. The movie never gets old. It also helps that it has Darryl Hannah at perhaps her peak beauty.
#2 Silver Linings Playbook
#3 Hitch: Will Smith. Need I say more? It also has Eva Mendez and those crazy curves.
Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the rom com genre, but three favorites would be:
3. Just like heaven
2. Catch and release
1. Shallow Hal
Each have great casts, and really decent story lines.
1. Tammy and the bachelor
2. Tammy and the doctor
3. Tammy and the millionaire
1) When Harry Met Sally.
2) Sleepless in Seattle
3) Tie..... Forget Paris & You've Got Mail...
I'm not too certain if these are Romance Comedies - I assume they are but I might be wrong.
Only You
...
(Ok - after thinking for a long long time I can't come up with anything else)
My top 3:
1) When Harry Met Sally (1989)
2) The Princess Bride (1987)
3) The Philadelphia Story (1940)
I'm usually not a big really romantic movies but I do enjoy a romantic comedy from time to time. My preferred genres are mysteries or westerns.
Honorable Mentions would be:
The Shop Around the Corner; Jerry McGuire; Waitress; Hitch; You've Got Mail; The Lady Eve; It Happened One Night; Notting Hill; Romancing the Stone; Moonstruck; Adam's Rib; Pillow Talk
1) The Ugly Truth--if you haven't seen it, see it.
2)Pretty Woman
3)40 Year Old Virgin
1) What Happens in Vegas Ashton Kutcher (not sure how you spell it) is hot and I just want to get Cameron Diaz naked.
