They are out there, but in my opinion, they don't get the attention they deserve. They are still really funny, and memorable. My favorites are Whitney Cummings, Roseanne Barr, and Lisa Lampanelli. All funny in a mainly male populated job.
Anjelah Johnson aka Bon Qui Qui smile
I like Amy Schumer most
good to see all the Amy Shumer love....
Katherine O'Hara
Anderea Martin
Madelaine Kahn
Teri Garr
Amy Poehler
Carol Burnett
Maria Bamford
Gilda Radner
my fave: the rockin' Sarah Bernhard (she came by Victoria just after she did "King of Comedy" - holy fuck was she funny)
all the gals in "Picnicface"
Kaitlin Olsen from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" - she RULES
If you're asking about stand-up comedians, I'd have to say Kathy Griffin, Amy Schumer and Debra DiGiovanni come mind straight away.
Catherine Tate all the way! I absolutely love that lady. She always makes me laugh, or at least smile.

there are some funny woman out there .. but the two best .. are redheads lucille ball and carol burnett ...always funny and their comedy is always refreshing .. as time goes on
I don't really have a favourite, but I do like Roisin Connaty
Katherine Ryan is pretty funny
Currently I have a thing for Chelsea Peretti. I just find her funny
Well, we have some very funny ladies up here and I'm not sure how well known they are in other countries save for Andrea Martin and Catherine O'Hara of SCTV who both had fairly successful funs in Hollywood and on American television.

Two of my favorites are Mary Walsh and Cathy Jones, both from Newfoundland, who were original cast members of the TV series This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Luba Goy of the Royal Canadian Air Farce is another but she's been around a lot longer (since the early seventies, I believe) and is pretty much retired save for an Air Farce reunion every New Year's Eve.
Wanda Sykes.
Amy Poehler
Sasheer Zamata
Amy Schumer

Several of the ones above too.
I love Kathy Burke in Gimme..... and Julie Walters. Down to earth funny.
it has to be Lisa Lampanelli, she doesnt care who's toes she steps on,case in point,Lisa's ripping of George Hamilton on the David Hasselhoff roast lol
Carol Burnette made me laugh as well as Roseanne Barr...there are more but these 2 come to my mind
doing my best to be good..
I think we're lucky in the UK, we have a lot of top class comediennes.
Victoria Wood is the queen of comedy but there are many others.
Carol Burnett
Wanda Sykes
Phyllis Diller
Lucille Ball
Joan Rivers
Janeane Garofalo
Lily Tomlin
Julia Louis Dreyfuss
Tina Fey
Mae West
Bea Arthur
Betty White
Gracie Allen

Gracie Allen to me is one of the most overlooked female comedians. She was brilliant and so many people have never even heard of her or long forgotten her.
We're fortunate in Denver to have a 24/7 comedy radio station so I get to hear a lot of different comedians. Wanda Sykes is one of the most consistently hilarious entertainers out there.
The early Eddie Izzard.
Karen Mills. She does a bit about the movie Nell where Jodie Foster can't speak correctly and Liam Neeson translates for her.
Kathy Griffin

Wanda Sykes

Lisa Lampenelli - she's fucking hilarious.....love seeing her on roasts..
AMY SCHUMER. She is my FAV right now and has been for a year or so.
Lisa Lampanelli is the best. She can dish it and take it. She is brilliant and vulgar. Love it.
