Several others have cited "The Usual Suspects" and I have to agree. The film is brilliant on every level.
One I didn't see others mentioning is "The Sixth Sense"- there is nothing traditional about the ending of that movie, and whatever you may think about the director and his later works, that film was phenomenal.
