a few things. i love Brad Bird. have loved him since Iron Giant. I was really looking forward to seeing Tomorrowland. it was fun. it's a good movie and a good family movie. it looks good and it's entertaining, but i wanted it to be a lot deeper, especially the characters, and it never invested me emotionally - a bit light on story - thing is, it really starts out promising, but never really delivers quite the way i hoped. interested to hear other's thoughts. also, there's a relationship in it that left me feeling a little weird - wondering if it was just me, or if anyone else felt that way too - if you've seen it, you probably can guess who i'm talking about.
ok.
to sum it up, fun film, but not a must see. oh, and i really like the girl who played Casey. wish they would have fleshed her out more.
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.
Spoilers ahead.
A 50 year old man being bitter about a relationship that ever happened when he was 13 is weird. At the end I thought clooney was going to kiss that little girl. It was just really weird. It's a weird story to write. The movie itself, was pretty boring to me. The only character I found interesting was the little girl robot, good actress.
The girl who played Athena (Raffey Cassidy) was a great actress. Difficult role for her. Like Hopkin's role in "Meet Joe Black" it required a subtle approach and I thought she was great. The movie itself was transparent crap. I have no idea how this shit gets a green light? All that money spent for absolutely zip. Anyways Clooney makes bad choices. Descendants was good, but Gravity was crap and this one is crap. So boring I wanted to leave, but I was with a group and had to stay.
