Just watched the first season. 8/10. The second season just started.

I watched the first season before I knew it was a book. Probably a good thing since I tend to pick apart any shows based on books. I liked the first season. I am watching the new season now. I just have to tell myself it has very little to do with the original book. I do like the premise of seeing the crime first and slowly unraveling the reasons why.

I wish I’d started Parts Unknown when Bourdain was still alive. Such a bloody awesome show. The man had a talent for word play I wish I had but never will. It’s food porn, but it’s also a historical/cultural/language lesson as well.

I've watched them all. They're great. I also watched all of his previous shows. I'm listening to Kitchen Confidential right now... it's great... He's so candid and true...
I watched the first two seasons of The Tunnel. It' about a murder investigation after a body is found in the tunnel between France and England. Detectives from both countries have to work together to solve the crime. I enjoyed the back and forth between the two countries.

I think it is based loosely on "The Bridge" the Swedish/Danish version. There is an American version as well of The Bridge. I have not watched them but now I will now if I can find them.

I've watched all the Hard Knocks series. It's a docu-drama that covers a specific NFL team during the preseason. It get's me excited for the NFL season.
I tried to watch Outlander but turned it off. Didn't do much for me. I need to pick up Vikings again.

i enjoy Outlander, but i am addicted to Vikings!

I just keep watching Rick and Morty season 3 over and over again..
its going to be a long wait but I am really looking forward to season 4

I love this show!!! I can’t think of an episode that doesn’t have me rolling (ROFL)

I loved Noob Noob (ROFL)

I very much enjoyed watching Succession on HBO. What a fucked up family, and other than the patriarch, a bunch of pussy losers. It's practically a comedy.

Sharp Objects is great! They actually film much of it not far from where I live.

Ballers has started back, and I like that show. Occasionally they show some tits.

I watch Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.

The new season of The Duece is starting soon. I watched it last year but thought it was mediocre. I'll give it another try. It just seemed slow and not very cutting edge.

I very much enjoyed Showtime's Billions and Patrick Melrose, but their over for the season.

Better Call Saul is back. I like it a lot, but it's not quite as good as Breaking Bad was.

Other than that it's sports, news, The History Channel, NatGeo, or The Smithsonian Channel.

I did very much enjoy The Terror, except for the fact that they totally failed at making life in the Arctic Circle believable. Those characters should've been shivering their asses off most of the time. Hell, their ships were iced in. Do you have any idea how cold it has to be for salty ocean water to thickly freeze over?

I've not enjoyed a TV series as much as this in a long time. Surprised it hasn't received more recognition.
Just finished the first episode of Sharp Objects. Was a bit slow but the ending was okay. Hope it picks up.
I just watched Disenchantment.

It's a new one from Matt Groening (who makes the Simpsons) You can probably tell by the animation.

It's on Netflix, so you can stream the first 10 episodes. It's also a little bit more risque because it's not on a major network.

how is it? it looks good, but the reviews are kinda luke-warm - not that that means much - i like a lot of things critics don't like. smile

It's pretty much like the Simpsons, but because it's on Netflix so they can push the boundaries a bit more. If you are familiar with fantasy stuff (like nerds like me) you probably will appreciate it a bit more.

The main character is voiced by Abbi Jacobsen, from Broad City. She's great.

Just like with the Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama etc... the real laughs come from the small jokes and references rather from the main plot points. It's 7.4 on IMDB and I would probably be on par with that number.
Watched all of disenchantment in 3 days. It's short so that's not too crazy. Recommended for sure.

American Vandal season 2 is coming soon... Definitely watch the first one. So damn funny.
These are probably the two very best anime films you will ever see,
and they have since become a series feature in Japan, but also have many language versions.
Both are classics, with engrossing stories, and their motion frame is still the basis for all animation used today.
Angel's Egg. (1985), which is the original anime version of the newer released movie,......and Ghost in the Shell. (1995)...

Swing and a miss....

This show was set to be released earlier this year, but was delayed due to the Parkland shootings. Then the Santa Fe school shooting happened and Paramount decided to shop it out to other networks.

It's very dark humor, but the characters are so unlikable the show is almost unbearable to watch. I'm 6 episodes in so I'm going to finish the season, but I would be amazed if this is going to get picked up for a second season.
I just finished watching the first season of Yellowstone.

I was really looking forward to this because it was created and written by Taylor Sheridan who wrote Sicario, Hell of High Water, and Wind River. All amazing movies.

But this series was just bland. I'm surprised it got picked up for a second season. The acting is good, and the scenery is beautiful. But the story just isn't compelling.
Anyone else out there watching House of Flowers on Netflix?

I started watching it this weekend and only one episode more to go. I've enjoyed it a lot and I already miss Paulina's voice.

When I finish I'll be able to start Disenchantment, so it's not all bad

I had no idea they were making a show out of this! It's disappointing to hear that it's likely a bust. I love the original, but I can see why it would have a hard time getting made today. "What's your damage, Heather?" "Well fuck me gently with a chainsaw." "Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?" The original is so damn quotable.

I haven't watched s2 of American Vandals yet, but I agree s1 was funny as fuck.

Back to watching The Expanse, now that Prime has let us mortals watch s2 and 3.

Paranoid is an eight-part thriller about a group of detectives drawn into a conspiracy regarding the pharmaceutical industry.

It wasn't too bad. I quite enjoyed it.
Kissing your lips while straddling your lap.
I finished with Sharp Objects. I think I'm going to read the book now.

I would have liked to see some more closure in the finale.

Amy Adams was awesome in it though. I hope she wins some awards.
I'm behind the times and just watched the first 2 seasons of Goliath. I liked the first season much better than the 2nd.

As a fan of Groening and company's GOOD work (ie. first decade or so of The Simpsons and Futurama), I'm eyeballing this one. Is it Futurama quality? Worth my time?

Not sure I've posted this, but I've been kicking it old school and watching the original Monty Python's Flying Circus. Well into season 2 and it really holds up fairly well. There's political references that are dated but most of their humour is absurdist rather than political so not a huge problem. And I'm finding some less famous sketches that are as LOL worthy as classics like the Dead Parrot.
OMFG I just found out Mr. Mercedes has a season two! First season was great. These are based on the Stephen King trilogy (though they skipped the second book) (good decision too). Dennis Lehane, who wrote Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone and a bunch of other great crime books, is writing a lot of the scripts.

Two episodes in. Deeply creepy.

I've had season 1 for while, but kind of forgot about it. It's next on my list.

I think it's definitely Futurama quality, but because its on Netflix it's able to be a bit more risque. You can watch the whole season in a day.
Done with Disenchantment and starting Good Girls. I think I'm going to love it.
Almost at the end of Sharp Objects. Loving it... if not just for this incredible human My heart!

EDIT: Just binged watched the rest of this. The ending is brilliant. The acting is superb throughout! So glad I didn't hear any spoilers! Highly recommended.
