Are there seriously people around that have never heard of Stronger? That song was played on every radio station, shopping mall, gym and in every mainstream bar and club non-stop back in the day. For at least two years straight I was hearing it at least once a day somewhere - not kidding. Good tune. Brings back some memories.

Personally I've always had a soft spot for his song, 'Amazing'. Gold Digger is an obvious mainstream classic as well, but 'Amazing' just has that vibe.

And this is coming from a girl that doesn't really listen to much hip hop.

And ok... huge admission - I have been to a Kanye concert. Yeah, I know - I can hear your collective screams. Someone took me and it was free. He does put on a good show - from what I remember anyway, I was really drunk that night.

To answer your question... yes... I've never heard of Stronger until you posted this video. What I know about Kanye West is that he's arrogant & married to Kim Kardashian. I don't listen to the type of music he produces... and if he wasn't such an attention whore... I doubt I'd even know who he was.

I thought he'd already given that to Beyonce?!

In Kanye's defense... I doubt older, clueless, schoolteachers who have their adult sons brush their hair (so creepy) are his demographic.

Speaking of the Beatles, not sure how you feel about them, but John Lennon did once declare them to be bigger than Jesus. If that ain't calling your own shot, I don't know what is.

Actually, John Lennon was misquoted by the media. He was doing an interview with Maureen Cleve, and when he said that they were talking about how church attendance was way down, and more people listened to the Beatles than went to Church. He didn't think he was better or more important. That being said, though, I think Sprite may also have a point...Jesus was shorter...sadly, it's one of the reason's that Mark David Chapman chose him...(he was on a list of celebrities he wanted to kill. Another one was Marlin Brando)

This! Lyrically, the dude is amazing. He hasn't put out a single album I don't like.

Unfortunately, he's a controversy junkie. And when you're as talented as he is, you don't have to be a controversy junkie. But he's hell bent on making himself as unlikeable as possible, so he pulls stunts like this. I think in his mind, he's that nerd that's been invited to the cool table, and is desperate to be the biggest dick possible in order to keep his place there.

But I digress, he knows he's not the biggest rock star on the planet. But it got us to talk about him, didn't it? He sure knows what he's doing in that aspect. He likes any attention, be it negative or positive.

well he is his own version of Donald .. that's for sure..
this is really good practice for his presidential bid... can't wait to see the Kayne and the Kardashians from the White House.. giggles

and now for the shameless plug...(it may be better than Kanye. Kidding, just kidding, lol!)

PLEASE READ 'MIRANDA'S JOURNEY'

Micky Dolenz (Monkee drummer) says one of the Beatles (may have also been Lennon) said they weren't the American Beatles, but more like Marx Brothers. However, he also fictionally quotes himself using the Lennon quote, & adding, "We're bigger than the Beatles! Check Rolling Stone!!"

You ask me? This song is proper interpretation (from guy who played instrument as much as any Beatle or Monkee):

You're welcome; Happy to.

Like many our age, my sibling & I watched "Carmen Sandiego" growing up. (Even saw Greg Lee host the game at a local Mall.) When I was around my last year of high school, sib invited mother & I to see the group in PA. We went, despite 12-plus-hour drive (if I recall right). I've been just over 13 times (superstition made me not stop @ that #), & the group has very few original members (last I saw them, which was a while back; I'm betting even more has changed since then).

Anyway, sib was a bigger fan than me (most females on the old message board called themselves "diehards" & actually followed the band all over), & one eventually passed sib along a CD she then copied for me that included that song.

this is not actually a thread to hawk your stories. people start doing that and pretty soon all the forum posts are going to turn into PR stunts. please refrain from this behavior in the future. thanks. sprite.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

As music is the biggest part of my life I felt I should see this ''greatest rock star'' who I've never heard of. I was greeted by some guy mumbling and then shouting incoherent lyrics over a sort of disco type beat I think the song (for want of a better word) was called Black Skinhead or it may have been referring to the gentleman himself as he was black with a shaven skull. With talent like his no wonder he's an avid attention seeker.
