For an older Fleming, Rush definitely works. The creator of James Bond seems to be a hot property these days. There have been a number of Fleming film projects discussed or rumoured in recent years. There's also a miniseries about him coming out in 2014 starring Dominic Cooper. It seems to be focussing on the war years when Fleming was involved in intelligence work himself.

Since we're talking about Geoffrey Rush, and at the risk of inviting a dogpile, I would say that The King's Speech sort of falls into this. The screenplay isn't crap, per se, but it could have been just a sappy, feel-good historical drama in the wrong hands. It was Rush, Firth, and Carter who gave it life IMHO.

Rush is a great actor and looks a lot like Fleming but a biopic about Fleming's life would probably be better served looking at his younger life and what influenced him
