Sooo I am gonna rant a bit here. Please mind the cursing. In regards to the 5th season finale....ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!!?!?!?!. Jon...fucking...Snow Stark was THE best hope the House of Stark had to make a come back. Sansa is kinda useless...Arya is now blind...Bran is crippled and no where to be found. Who knows what happened to Rickon...hes about as usless as Peter Chris from KISS. I had such high hopes for Jon Snow. He is supposed to be The Kings Guard for Daenerys in the new world Westeros. Daenerys and Tyrion and Jon were supposed to all come together and try to save the world. The new "Triforce" *sighs heavily*. Over all this season was one huge let down. We all waited for a year and this shitstorm of sucking balls got teabagged right in our faces. There were a few good parts here and there *Cough* HARDHOME! *cough* but the rest was just sad. As big and popular as Game of Thrones is they really need to be a bi-annual series. And I know people are like "But Martin is done with the books blah blah blah." You know what...fuck that noise...he is old and may croak any day now. And besides the show is plowing through the books at a fast rate anyhow. So why not just accept the inevitable and run with it. And they are backed by HBO so there is NO way they plow through budget like a teenager with a tissue box. Anyhow...rant over.

I may have to abandon the show after that finale. Watching anything based on a book(s) is always problematic. I need some mindless entertainment right about now. There really is no one left who is worth watching the show for, except Tyrion. Any suggestions on a new show I can invest my emotions in?

Melisandre abandoned Stannis when she saw that Stannis lost the battle.... she knew then that he wasn't the "rightful heir" with no King's blood and that the fire god was through with him. She left for Castle Black, Jon Snow who may actually have King's blood... (spoiler) and maybe she revives Jon. I sure as fuck hope so.

But really, the army battle scenes in Game of Thrones are amateur hokie. No shield walls or formations, no real strategies, no massed organized infantries, no massed archers, just nilly willy frontal assaults usually on horseback. C'mon!

Jon Snow is the bastard son of the deceased Prince Rhaegar Targaryen & Lyanna Stark...still not quite sure of the lines of succession in this universe, but he is Daenerys' nephew and the Targaryen's were quite (word banned from use @ Lush) in the past.
Thoros was adept at reviving Beric Dondarrion more than a few times and since Melisandre is also a Red Priestess & adherent of the Lord of Light and she is back at Castle Black...
Jon Snow may be dead...and would his reincarnated self not be Jon Snow - but something less? Since he officially died as the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch - this would free his reanimated lesser self to vacate The Wall & join his Aunt (or do anything else he and the Red Priestess desired to accomplish).
I would say that Jon Snow did indeed, kill the boy, at last.

I've only read the first book and haven't yet seen any of the series, I was told I wouldn't enjoy it after reading the book so I haven't watched any!
But I I think I'm going to now judging by all your responses!
The best show on television.....never watched such best concept before.
It's a good piece of work overall. Sometimes the narrative makes no sense, the fight scenes are surprisingly lame, the pace fluctuates a little too much and there are just far too many characters, but, however overpopulated, it has the best characters (in my not at all humble opinion) on t.v.
So looking forward to this, I read the books, watched the show and now that none of us know what's going to happen it's really fun, we can speculate, assume and guess but now anything is possible! I got no doubt that there will be quite a few changes between the books and TV too so what will happen will be compared greatly. We'll all be shocked at the same time! And damn you got to love those OMGWTF moments.

I want to be Brienne of Tarth!
I'd like to think that I'm prettier than Brienne as described in the books, but Gwendoline Christie rocks! She's almost as tall as me too, and I think her armour would fit me rather well. I sold my previous suit of armour when I stopped doing living history and re-enactment stuff but I'm quite good with sword, battle axe and pollaxe.
I love Brienne too.

The biggest OMFGWTF moment for me was the red wedding. Nothing has shocked me quite so much afterwards, except maybe Stannis and Shireen last season.
It's always sooo hard watching week to week though.
I'm not sure there is anyone who hates Brienne, most people appear to love and respect her. She's probably one of the few characters I'd actually get upset at dying and at this point I half expect almost everyone to be dead by the end aside from the peasants who are forced to rebuild after everything happens. If Brienne has a black mark on her it is the fact she actually is a decent person in the show and let's face facts, if you are a good person in the show you likely die for it. Sure if your an evil bastard you may as well but good folk tend to make good guy decisions that ends up costing them dearly later. You only have to look at the Starks for that.
