Favorite Broadway or Movie Musical?

For example: I adore Phantom of the Opera
saw book of mormon a few months ago. it was pretty awesome.
A Fiddler on the Roof and almost any Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire flick.
Singing In The Rain.....

"I'm singin' in the rain
Just singin' in the rain,
What a glorious feeling,
And I'm happy again.
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark, up above,
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love.

Let the stormy clouds chase.
Everyone from the place,
Come on with the rain
I have a smile on my face.
I'll walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin', singin' in the rain."

Simple but so very classy
I've only seen one or two live.

My favorite so far has been "Camelot."

I did, however, get to see Mandy Pitinkin perform live awhile back. BEST thing I've seen in my life.

He performed a couple pieces from the famous Broadway stories he's done in the past.
Phantom of the Opera...

The music is just fabulous...
The Lion King (The Musical) and Jesus Christ Superstar
I don't really like musicals but Chicago was fantastic.
My all time favorite is "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" with Zero Mostel.
Hands down Les Miserables! I've seen it 6 times so far including once in NYC on Broadway. It's returning to Toronto this fall and I've already purchased my tickets yet again!
I am not a huge musical fan, but there have been some that I have enjoyed. My all time favorite has to be Fiddler On The Roof though.
1) Phantom of the Opera (stage and screen)
2) Fiddler on the Roof (only seen really good stage versions so far)
3) Singin in the Rain
4) Saturday Night Fever
5) Chicago
6) The Sound of Music (stage and screen)
7) West Side Story
8) My Fair Lady
9) Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
10) Guys and Dolls -- saw a traveling stage production several years ago in Nashville; it was wonderful
Les Misérables
Of all our inventions for mass communication,
pictures still speak the most universally understood language.

Walt Disney
Wicked
" I don't know the question, but sex is definitely the answer"
Woody Allen
Definitely, hands down, no questions asked... Wicked! smile
Gotta add my cult-classic movie musical as well.

The Newsies.

Love it.
does "pitch perfect" count
Does Tangled count?

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Back in 1989 in San Diego I saw Oba Oba!!!!! Wonderful muscial......
Fiddler On The Roof is certainly one. But the first one I saw when I was much younger was West Side Story when It first came out. That one sold me on musicals.
Sweeney Todd (The Broadway version with Angela Lansbury and Len Cariou, NOT the crap version with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter)
Paint your wagon. That was made for men
Billy Elliot and Wicked!
Cats is it but for traditional one probably Oaklahoma
I've seen so many musicals, most of which I loved. "Cats" and "Wicked" were both great but, my favorite has to be Green Day's, "American Idiot!" I saw it closing night in San Diego. I wish I'd seen it sooner so I could have gone back to watch it again!!! "Billy Elliot" would be a close second.
The movie version of West side Story and Les Misérables stand out most for me.
