I Think Thee Next Movie Should Be Based On The Book 'Carte Blanche' Not The Latest Book.
Actually, Casino Royale was an outlier among recent Bond movies in that it was based on a novel. Most of them aren't. Quantum of Solace borrowed its title from a Fleming short story but had an original storyline tacked on (which is pretty much the norm for the series, really). My understanding is that Eon only has rights to Fleming's work and that the literary Bond crowd have never licensed them to adapt the post-Fleming novels. Which is too bad because some of Gardner's better novels practically read like a Bond movie complete with pre-title action sequence.

As for Day-Lewis, he is a fantastic actor but I'm not sure I'm seeing him as an action hero. Would be an interesting choice, though. I've been thinking of Martin Freeman, who played Watson opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock, for the part. At the end of one episode Watson fires a 9mm handgun across a street through a pane of glass to take out the villain and looks very Bond-esque doing it. And Craig has established that you can have a blonde Bond. After playing Bilbo in The Hobbit, though, not sure if Freeman will be up for another franchise. Cumberbatch himself might be an option, too, though his rather eccentric looks might not cut it (he looked great in a tux at the Toronto Film Festival, though).
He wouldn't do it I think. I want them to go outside of the box maybe Gary Oldman, not as sexy but a damn good actor.
I can't see him as Bond somehow. As for who should be Bond after Daniel Craig, I would like to see Idris Elba.

I this. Not classically handsome for sure, but can capture Bond's darker, dangerous side perfectly. He's older than Craig, so I think he'd be playing an older, more experienced but also more jaded Bond.
If Nick can be an action hero, he certainly can. Danny boy brings presence, depth, and complexity. A little p90x, or insanity workout, and your done. License too kill a script. No one could follow that performance if it happened. I think his tastes, and abilities in roles would overlook such an offering.

Why not right? I love G.O. Older can be sexy too.
