Today Jussie Smollet was charged with a felony for filing a false police report. Overwhelming evidence was laid out against him, including a $3500 check paid to the 2 brothers to stage the attack on him.
A sad turn of affairs.
Not the first time actors/celebrities/people in the public eye have faked or staged violent incidents or attacks to try and get some publicity or stay relevant. You're right, it is sad, bordering on pathetic. I feel oddly sorry for the guy.
I hope they find him guilty and throw the book at him. There seems to be alot of evidence against him, including phone calls to the two accomplices. People were willing to rush to his side and now are strangely quiet since the real story may have been uncovered. Where is the press now? Crickets
Actors are generally quite narcissistic and self centered but this guy takes the cake.
I really don't care what happens to him. His career is over, which is probably the biggest punishment he could endure.
I hope someone makes a comedic crime movie about this like "Pain and Gain."
He's going to go down in history... just not in the way he hoped.
I couldn't careless about him.
