I suspect one of the reasons a lot of guys come back around to recognize their sexuality as they hit their fifties and sixties is that with the kids getting grown up, they can do so with less risk of destroying their family.

Thing is, I wouldn't say that i have been living a false lifestyle for the most part. Maybe in more recent times. I'm bi, meaning I can be satisfied by men or women so I can have fantasies and desires around men but still be happily married to my wife. Just like I can fantasize and have desires about other women but not act on them out of respect and love for her. And I was not even out to myself for much of my 30 years of marriage so it's not like I was deliberately hiding anything. I had some discoveries of my own to make before that even became an issue.
