I haven't put a picture of my face up because I'm ugly lol... my current avatar looks like Johnny Depp compared to me ;)

The eye on my profile is real however so there's a little bit of me haha :P
People that don't care, play games with people that do care. Life is just a game however and we all need to learn how to play it.

Frauds and con-artists, the lot of them.

I'm also dubious about people who have cartoons as their avatar. This is an adult site, for goodness' sake.

It would be nice to actually see the person you're talking with. Not showing a picture of yourself on an adult networking site tells me something about that person right away. They are probably not going to be who they say they are. But I guess no avatar is better than a picture of Brad Pitt or Jennifer Annison.

What do I think of people who have no pics on their profiles? That is a question giving people the right to think, a. k. a., sit in judgement of others people's business as so many posters have pointed out above. We members have the right to take the risk or not to take it. It is a bigger risk for some than others.
I think this question is unfair.

The better question is why should anyone here expect everyone here to be willing TO post pics of themselves?

I understand completely when it comes to not posting any pictures of oneself. To a degree it can be beneficial even, in that it forces others to evaluate someone based on the things they say instead of just how they look. That being said, it's still preferable to at least put something as an avatar as a way to express one's personality and interests.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

Absolutely! I'm always leery of cartoon avatars.

I think with this I have changed my opinion some one it. I would never have a red and white on my friends list, I would say get a pic.. but the longer I have been here, I started thinking, what is the difference between the red and white then in a fake avatar? They are both Fake.. now.. flip side.. I want there profiles filled out so I know something about them. I would never put my real picture here for many reasons. So I will always use a Fake avatar.

I would never use a red and white and it don't take much to get a avatar of some sort. But I don't think I will be as judgmental as I once was. And I think I was like that, because when I first came, that was the first thing I was told, get and avatar and fill out your about you section.

I don't mind.. have several red and whites as friends after talking with them ..

but pics and some info .. even a little.. [u don't have to go mad like I do .. giggles] make for a more interesting initial encounter...
plus an insight into the person themselves.. [that's why mine is crazy!]

as for trust? that comes from knowing them ..

Exactly this IS the internet and even pics are... meaningless. Anyone can post a phony pic as easily as telling lies about their age, gender, sexual preference or anything else. A cartoon for an avatar? Why be concerned about that? What's more important is does the info on the profile suggest a real person and does IT give you an idea as to the reality of the individual BEHIND the avatar?

What? You mean after all this time you don't believe I'm an orchid with killer keyboard skills??? Damn, my world is shattered! *petals droop and start to wrinkle*

*coughs* Sorry, now ... the original question, going in the direction of the additional question - why should anyone here expect everyone here to be willing TO post pics of themselves?

When you say 'no pics on their profiles' are you meaning their avatar, or in their gallery? I don't, simply because I have been using the interwebs for well *whispers* more than 18 years! */whisper* a looong time, and have learnt that you just don't know who is on the other side of a screen. Back when Photoshop was first hitting the streets I watched a debate errupt over whether someone could create a photo with two people who had never met, that could be believed. I stopped the argument dead in its tracks by quickly finding a photo of Sarah Michelle Geller and a photo of Russell Crowe, and within 10 minutes had created a pic of the two of them hugging, that couldn't be picked as being 'Photoshopped'... and as this was on a Russell Crowe fansite I didn't have to convince them that the two hadn't even met as some of them knew every move the man made (yes, the internet is a scary scary place, children! Beware the 'true fans'!)

So pics? *shrugs* I take those posted with a truckload of salt. If it's got professional lighting, then 999/1,000 it ain't 'them'. Simple.

I don't post me, and I don't expect others to do the same for whatever their reason. Yes, it would be nice to 'meet' people, and some have sent me pics privately, and I appreciate their trust.

What does get me jaded is the constant use of a 'hot model' pic, cuz really? If it ain't you, then don't use it. Your avatar is supposed to reflect your personality, or represent something you really enjoy/love/admire/etc. I enjoy the folks who use different avatars and swap them out, adi and her glitter and other types of 'adi' avatars, Mysteria and her cheeky butt, shotgun and his lone man in a long coat, and so on and so forth - using something that appeals to them, as it tells me a little bit about them. But guys, why use hot models flashing 10-pack abs with no shirt, and sultry hot stares into the camera lens... unless of course that's what really appeals to you. Which is fine, and happy to read it that way!

Those with no profile pics just haven't found the right one that represents them the best. However... I'm really a green fairy. Don't tell anyone.

Not having YOUR picture as your AV doesn't bother me at all, But leaving it to the generic red face does. I understand you wanting your privacy but it would be nice if you at least posted a pic that depicted something about you. Like maybe a cat if you are a cat lover, a surfer if you surf or maybe a woman in handcuffs if your into bondage, etc. And no guys, that doesn't mean a generic cock if you think you have a big one, LOL!

But I do get upset when a person leaves their profile totally blank. It would nice to know something about them, likes and dislikes, etc. I don't think that is too much to ask for!

I will chat with or friend a person because we connect and not because of their AV.

Going through the first few posts (from 2 years ago!), I pretty much have the same thoughts as Nikki. The profile is there for a reason, it allows a quick glimpse of who you might be, before you start chatting. An empty profile and the generic red/white avatar however just shows that they are either lazy or not interested to put any effort, so I doubt they'd make any effort to actually know anyone too.

Why shouldn't you trust someone with no picture on their profile? We've all known people in real life whose face we see every day (often family members) who we can't trust, so just knowing what someone looks like isn't a guarantee for good faith and undoubted sincerity from them. And I'd question the wisdom of putting one's picture on any social media venue, but especially on a porn site like this.

I too hate the red and white ones. I think an avatar should try to give an impression of your personality, or at least, your sex. But even more than the red and whites with at least a name, What is it with the 'lurker' ones? I have been told that these are closed accounts, and I know that some of them are, but I have also seen instances where they have taken part in discussions which have taken place in the current time, - within hours of the proper time. I'm confused!

That's there choice, but even having a pic doesn't necessarily mean that's who they are, the only way you'll really find that out is to talk to them on the phone or cam with them...there's alot of fake people on here...

I respect that they don't post pics of themselves. Once they gain my trust, I share some with very select people only.

I will not post a real pic of myself for a couple of reasons. This is my outlet to present myself as who I SEE myself as. I feel I can express myself better using other pics, while maintaining the shroud of mystery. Also, I have used facebook for years. Everyone has their own photo's (maybe I'm naive, but I think MOST do), and there are so many trolls there that its a real turn off. It seems odd, but I really believe that people feel more free to express themselves and are more honest about who they are by indulging in a little bit of anonymity.

For me, a person with a red and white avatar is just here to look at the pictures and are looking for sex without divulging anything about themselves. Also, I consider this an erotica sight, more than a porn site. Stories can be graphic, and some pics/gifs are pretty explicit, but you're not going to find a lot of videos like Pornhub.com, etc.
Overall, it's a little creepy to me. Not trying to offend, you did ask, afterall...

I'm only nervous of cartoon avatars if their arm keeps shaking...hmmm. I wonder what that's all about, lol! ;-)
