People the don't post pictures brother me if they have something to hide they should not be here. I might have a avatar but the pictures on my profile pictures r real.

lol - how does not revealing yourself to the entire population of lush translate into having something to hide? ever hear about selective privacy?

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I hate the way I look so I rarely take mu picture period.

I don't post them on Lush because it would raise to many questions. My profile says female but I look like a guy because I have ye to start hormone therapy.

That's just me

Trust? Online? Not a chance. With or without a picture.

This is true. It's online and a sex story site. Who's actually honest? Besides it doesn't matter if they have a picture or not some don't want to put it out there for their own reasons. Nothing wrong with that.

red and whites and blue and whites are silly..

there's so many avatars or even pictures you can use that you can find on the web.

anything is better than nothing IMO ..

Just my opinion.

I'm very visual and tinker with graphics and photography.

From my limited online experience, there's no co-relation whatsoever between having personal pictures on a profile and being a great person to hang out and have a chat with. People don't post pictures for all the reasons stated above - security (or insecurity), anonymity...the list goes on. And that's totally fine by me.

I do share a few risque pictures with friends, and my avatars so far have been me (cropped shots, of course). None in my stash are crude or incriminating, although I do feel a tad silly (read: narcissistic) for posting these sometimes! As for mug shots, these are only shared with those I have no qualms with bumping into on the street, however slim that chance might be. But caution and careful selection are always exercised.

Honestly, I think the best thing you can have on your profile is a collection of sexy stories for readers like me to enjoy (and leave comments on)! Otherwise, a well-written bio and forum posts that express who you are as a person would be equally engaging. Barring that, I can actually find a person interesting through chats, but I rarely do that these days.

Any way you do it - pictures or not - just enjoy Lushing!x

To have ....
.... or not to have.

An Avatar.

Be it real ....
.... or not.

It's about choice.

For myself it is not about the picture ( ones photo choice for an avatar ) that draws me to even friend accept, chat with .... etc.
It is the words of the person behind that photo of their choice, and how they communicate themselves outward.

I'm new here and have no pics on my profile. Unlikely to either.
Reason - to protect my privacy, that is all.
I work with too many people to be public on here, even though I doubt anyone I know uses this site. The chances of an ex GF reading a post of mine and then knowing who I am is extremely slim, but I'll have to deal with that if it ever occurs.
So no public pics.
Judge me if you like - I don't give a toss.

i'm assuming you mean pics of themselves. it doesn't bother me at all. people should feel free to do what they're comfortable with. whether that be no pics, a few pics or pics of every trivial part of their body lol

Say. Her. Name.

If someone doesn't have a photo on their profile, I think maybe s/he doesn't want to post one. I have a very odd picture of me on mine (mirrored to show my beard surrounding my lips). I don't think a recognizable photo would make me more trusted, but a naked photo of my bod would give a lot of folk a good laugh.

I prefer to have something to look at so as long as there is a profile picture I am happy. I don't even care if it is actually them or a random picture. I just don't like the stupid red outline that is the default picture. smile

I think for the most part many of us here do not post pictures of ourselves (including myself) for all of Lush to see. I have a life outside of this site and I want to ensure that that life and my lush life stay separate. Privacy and discretion are important to many of us. I respect that, and hope that others respect that as well.

The friends I choose on lush are chosen for the connection we make though our minds, not by our appearance. Saying that, once I feel a strong connection or trust with someone here I am willing to share personal pictures with them. However, this is done on my/our terms and done when we both feel it is right. Some people on my freinds list I have not shared nor have they shared personal pictures and thats ok too.

To assume someone is not trustworthy due to this is kind of ridiculous really! A picture is just a picture.... and can be found anywhere....just try google!

I like to see something to indicate who the person is, - either real pics or avatars, with a name, so that you know who is posting. What I don't like are the red blank silhouettes marked 'Guest'. You think 'How many guests are there for God's sake?' Then when you look more closely you find it is the same one! Or is it? The same joining date, the same number of posts, - which never change, - why not put an avatar and a name on and have done with it?

It tough to say the specific reason. I myself have no pics of myself on the site at all and im not embarrassed about that. Its about security for me and i would only show pictures of myself to people i trusted and maybe in do time i might put up some pics of myself. But i would say people are just trying to protect themselves and figure out what they are and just need that time before they make themselves known to the world.

I think that is their business and perrogative; we are all supposed to be adults here. It really does not make me trust them more or less. I certainly can understand someone's reasons for not posting a real picture and feel it is a smart thing to not do so.

What I DO care more about is their creativity in whatever avatar or pictures they do have, and that they have something much more imaginative than the generic male or female silloutte XP

I think they are trying to keep it quiet they are here on lush. No big deal. Me, I don't care if people know I here or not. I actually have bumped into an old friend here.

I think everyone should have a picture or something, even if it isn't a picture of themselves. They should take the time to pick out an avatar, at the minimum. Could be a cartoon, a scenic shot... anything is better than nothing!

Whatever people are comfortable with as fine by me. My stories here reveal my inner self, my emotions and thoughts and feelings, and compared to that, showing my naked body, which I have also done here, is not as big a deal. Some people come here to read stories and view photos but don't want to reveal themselves, bodies or thoughts, I understand that, it is fine by me. Everyone is different and it would be a boring world indeed if everyone had to be exactly the same.

It's a personal choice I think.

I have a few pics on my profile restricted to friends only though, incase someone I know happens to stumble across me!!
Try anything once, twice if you like it.
Check out my stories below, enjoy! ;)

It's funny when people post a "googled pic" pretending it's theirs. (yes. you can find out that)And people actually believe them. haha. Who cares?!? Have a delicious Lush time!!!!

I put up some pics of me. I was going to take them off but enjoyed some of the reactions so left them there. i don't care if others choose to put pics up - their choice. I understand the reasons why they choose not to. What does piss me off completely is people who can't be bothered to put up a profile with even the most basic information. Guys are infinitely worse than girls in this respect. AND people who hide behind the generic red face. Come on it's easy to find an avatar and dream up a bit of info about yourself. Anyway - no profile - no chats.

Actually, I think guys and girls are about what and what when it comes to the blank profile/no avatar thing.

A lot of them are just trying to get you to go to straight to Messenger or for some reason (probably spam), and couldn't care less about their profiles.

Not having a photo/pic. is there prerogative. It doesn't bother me and I don't hold it against them. For me it makes more of an impression if they take the time to communicate. That they reply with more than "Thanx" or "LOL."

I am always cautious about a person who had had a profile for a while, yet no photo.

Just about sums it up really.
I have a few pic albums on here. Some, but by no means all, of my Lush friends can see them as I choose.
This is a site that exists because of words, of language, and the emotions and feelings that are engendered by that.
There's nowhere else quite like it. I'm very proud to be a member and grateful to Nic and everyone else that have made Lush one of my "happy places".
Forget the pics.
What matters are the words.

I don't have a pic on my profile because I treasure my privacy in a mostly closed minded world. If you want honesty and truth you will find it in the stories and poems on Lush. Many authors have put their hearts and souls into their writing and for that I am grateful.

And for the record, my avatar sort of looks like me. I was shooting for the retired porn star look.

I don't think it matters. And how do you know if ones posted are actually that person. I personally don't have any of me. I'm here to explore and have fun.
