This is the type of question in which everyone knows the answer, but most posture not to seem shallow or insensitive to the opposite sex. Physical attraction and looks are important to both men and women and are major factors into what kind of relationships both sexes build. However, looks and physical attraction are not the only things that determine who a man or woman may choose to hook-up with. Indifference creates many negative behaviors in all of us and in those actions we may miss opportunities, but that is life.
I have been considered picky, when it comes to the women I have been with, but I have had connections that are not only physical but take into account the entire woman. Without that initial attraction I would not have gotten to know the women beyond just looks.

i agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...what is ugly to one person may be prince charming to another. who is to judge? over the years, i have found myself attracted to men who, on any given day, would never register on my radar because of their initial looks BUT once i got to know them, their personality and humour, i found myself very attracted to them. maybe that's just a female thing...i'm not sure men are capable of doing this or not. let me know if i'm wrong...

Depends on your definition of ugly. To me ugly is not the same thing as unattractive. Someone can be attractive, and ugly...or unattractive and un-ugly(?).
Having said that, no...I wouldn't sleep with a girl who I considered "unattractive". I have standards that anyone who wants to be more than a friend has to meet. A certain level of attractiveness (among other things) is part of that standard. Before you pull out the shallow card, know that I have refused to sleep with attractive women simply for being dumb. Again, I have standards that need to be met. Call me fussy, but I know what I'm worth...and I'm definitely too good for unattractive and/or dumb chicks.

Looks do matter, that's just something that's been hard wired into us. Other things like age and monetary success also have a place in deciding who and what we want in a mate.
The one thing I do demand in a mate is that she be unhindered by sexual hang ups and be capable of being passionate. This is critical to me. Keeping things at a completely superficial level, ignoring the obvious pluses of personality and intelligence, I still can be really attracted to "ugly" girls. If they have a good figure and dress provocatively, it can get me going as much as a better lookin girl. Similarly, a girl that is a bit chubby, of she has right shape and is pretty can also do it for me (but less likely than in non-pretty, well figure girl). At the end of the day, it's the girls that exude sexuality that get me and that comes in various sizes and level of facial prettiness.

I actually dont like the word "ugly" when referring to looks. To me though, looks are not everything. You could put 2 girls together, one clearly better looking than the other, but if the less attractive girl is more confident, outgoing, loves to laugh and be a little flirty with her manner, I find that far more attractive than an attractive girl who stands there like a mute or acts a little snobbish. Chances are that the bubbly, outgoing girl with a spunky personality will carry that into the bedroom.
