I am seeing it in Chrome on my Android phone. Haven't checked a desktop yet.
So a smaller version of the logo for mobiles? That's what I kind of wondered. I had to do that for the site I run since the larger logo didn't work on a phone screen.

Ah, on the phone. Probably space restriction? It is truncated on my Iphone, but as normal on my pc and laptop.

This was what the header looked like a couple of days ago so doesnt look like a space saving issue the lush is the same size just the stories is missing

It's just a space thing, probably in preparation for the new chat rollout, as they might have different icons to fit in the headers/footers.

Space saving is, as Jen suggests, exactly what it is. The full logo still appears when I access the site on desktop. Size is a big problem when trying to make a site work on both mobile and full-size screens so sometimes compromises like alternate logos are needed.

IMO it makes complete sense to have a reduced logo for smaller screens, especially as the white on red can sometimes be straining on the eye. For a long time, it just read "LS" on phones and smaller tablets.
We all know which site we are on, so why withdraw something which makes smaller interfaces more streamlined?
People rarely call it "LushStories" when onsite and refer it to "Lush", so the shorter header also reflects that.
It was a cosmetic change which makes sense. If it's to be withdrawn because three people think Lush isn't about the stories anymore, they might aswell change the header to "LushStories.com" to remind the handful of people that keep referring to an app that it's indeed a website. 🤷♀️

The reason the change is being withdrawn has nothing to do with this thread.
And... when I go to Tesco once a week, to do my food shop, I chat with lots of peeps and always refer to the site as Lushstories. 😎

I’m sorry if I come across as a paranoid delusional but I feel since the move to lush 2.0 there has bern more interest and development in the other aspects of the community here than in the stories. In my original post, I merely questioned if this rebrand on mobile devices was the first step in an acknowledgment that Lush is more than just the stories. If it is, that’s fine but be honest about it. You might vote Tory but you are still voting for the Conservative Party so you might refer to Lush but people still publish their stories on lushstories.

To clarify, the change was meant only for when in chat, to allow for more room on the header bar. It's not needed on the story side, so that will remain. It was rolled out sitewide in error.

The chat side is still on v1 code and has been causing issues with reconnections and stability for the whole site, so that's been the focus of late.
Edit: once the new chatrooms are rolled out, they'll be back looking at timelines/newsfeeds for profiles. They've been working on that a while, but another few months should hopefully see it ready for testing.
I'm no writer but "what's in a name.." comes to mind.😉

Huh? I'm not really understanding the whole "first step in an acknowledgment that Lush is more than just the stories." When have we not acknowledged as much? As far as I'm aware, we've always acknowledged that Lush is about more than just stories, with stories being the heart of the site, which is why they take centerstage in branding.
People typically come for the stories and stay for the community. We have moderators dedicated to the many facets of this site (story moderators, chat moderators, forum moderators, group moderators). The communal aspect of Lush, in my opinion, is what sets us apart from other smut story sites, so it'd be pretty counterintuitive on our part not to acknowledge that Lush is more than just the stories. It's something we've always done since before the switch to the new version of Lush.
Switching to just "Lush" dismisses the identity of this site that's rooted in stories. Not to mention, it'd be a shot in the foot because just Lush is a thriving (yet in my opinion shitty and overrated) cosmetics brand. No sense in fighting for our identity when we already have one, which is why that's not happening. As noted above, it was no more than a blip.

I was trying to be diplomatic but exactly. The stories should be the heart of the site and I was worried that just calling it Lush forgets that. Thanks for putting it so eloquently

I always giggle when I see the Lush cosmetics stores, imagining a bricks and mortar version of our site. A little cafe, wtih room set aside for reading and many rooms for communal sharing! I would hate to have to moderate the chatrooms there however!

Why not just ditch the logo altogether when logged in? Members already know what site they're on (it might even add some privacy incase someone looks over their shoulder, provided that they're not looking at some smutty pics), and it's probably in the parts of Lush for which you need to be logged in where the extra buttons come in.

I guess that's v1 code from a Face-Pic perspective, but surely v2 from a Lush perspective.
BTW, this editor has been acting up in the last few days or so. Like text wrapping happens in the middle of words, and SHIFT+ENTER results in a SPACE instead of a new line (as opposed to a new paragraph).

It's about a husband and wife remembering who they are together. The fire, their passion, their love, her need to submit to him, and his need to dominate her. All rolled into one beautiful connection. It all started with one simple word...
Nightshade Part 1
We made a lot of suggested interim improvements to the site and story side last year that everyone wanted. Chat has been the poor cousin for a long time now, using code that is well over 10 years old and plagued with disconnection issues. While we've had someone working on it, we've also been focusing on the next major site update. As part of the BETA chat feedback, we kept receiving comments that private messages (PMs) weren't prominent enough. So, to make room for a separate notification on the toolbar on mobile, we had to reduce the space taken by the logo. "Lush" looked better than "LS," so we went with that. Unfortunately, it ended up being applied across the whole site by accident, instead of just in the mobile chat interface.
I understand that the parts of the site that people use most are always the most important to them, and they will be the most vocal about them. The next significant update is the feed overhaul. It's still months away but will be the most extensive ongoing update since Lush V2. It will make it easier to see more of whatever you're here for, whether it's stories, following authors, making new friends, or browsing the millions of pictures the site has.
